The present article, which is a sequel of the discussion on the effective ways of self-refinement, focuses on man¨s everlasting fierce combat with Satan. The article touches on a number of issues including recognizing Satan and the difference between Satan and Iblis, the vicious devices hatched by Satan to deceive God¨s servants by pretending servitude, the philosophy of the creation of Satan, and finally the various techniques used by Satan to capture man.In brief, man, like Satan who worshipped God for six thousand years and then due to his haughtiness and vanity was deprived of God¨s mercy for ever, is always subject to Satan¨s temptations and to trying. Man should be cautious not to take off the necklace of servitude and should take refuge in God from Satanic evils, because everyone, except the purified servants of God, are subject to the Satanic temptations of jin and man.

To essert their dominance over others, colonial powers have sought to colonize countries and nations, making use of up-to-date techniques. In the past they used to colonalize countries and plunder their natural and human resourcs through invasion. But, after the awakening of nations, colonial powers followed another way. They extended their power by establishing relations with the so-called independent governments. For a time, this method was most common. Then, due to the increase of nations¨ awareness and serious injuries which the authorities dependent on colonial powers caused to nations, a widespread resistance started against imperialism and oppression, which was a real challenge to colonial powers.Accordingly, colonialists felt that they could no longer use this mothod. The rapid spread and wide use of means of communication, the world¨s turning into a village-like world and the inefficient nationalist governments paved the way for the colonial powers to extend their influence and target the cultural, political and economic fields through the means of communication.Referring to post-modern imperialism, the wise leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenie, considers that the focus of pos-modern imperialism on the media and on launching cultural onslaught is the imperialists¨ modern technique. The colonial powers¨ control over the means of communication and over the important news agencies can be confronted by the awakening of the Muslims. The Muslims¨ awarenss of imperialists¨ plans and objectives can thwart the imperialists and prevent them from continuing their policy.

The article introduces an analytical study of the theories about the necessity of establishing a theocratic government inspired by the Prophet¨s model of governing. Two views are put forward as to whether or not it is necessary to establish a theocratic government: a negative view and a postive view. Those who adopt the negative view say that there is no need in this period to establish a theocratic government. In other words, it is, as they say, not our duty to set up such government and they maintain that the decision taken by the Prophet to establish a government was not part of the divine message, rather it was due to urgent need and as a response to people¨s demand. The supporters of the other view say that the establishing of a government by the Prophet was part of the divine message of the Prophet and it was not intended for a specific period of time, i.e. when the Prophet was alive. The author advocates the second view and considers establishing a theocratic government as a religious duty which is limited to no specific time, and so, it is incumbent on the Muslims to carry out this duty whenever possible. The authors¨ advocacy of the second view is based on a through study of th Prophet¨s political lifestyle.

Shorhy after Imam Khomeini¨s announcing that the guardianship of Muslim jurist is the basis of political government, Imam¨s theory was under assualt from various sides especially some of the biased, who claimed that the idea was proposed two hundred years ago by Mullah Ahmad Naraqi. Therefore, the study of its history according to the view of Farabi, a well known Muslim philosopher of the third Hijri century, falls under the heading of defending this theory both in terms of its history during the minor occultation (of Imam) and in terms of its sound argument. The article seeks to investigate Farabi¨s view about the gaurdianship of Muslim jurist. Farabi has used a meritorious method and reasoning in his exposition of the guardianship of Muslim jurist to ensure worldwise approval.

Socrated Memoirs, written by Xenophon, presents a picture of Socrates different from Plato¨s view of Socrates. Having delved into Xenophon¨s work which has the form of biography, the author offers an account about Socrates¨ political philosophy extracted from this work. Among the philosophical issues which have been discussed are the methodology of Socrates¨ dialogues, Socrates¨ anthropology and epistemology which are based on man¨s ability to recognize facts and to know what he really is, the establishment of a political society and setting up a state, citizen¨s willing obedience to law, virtue-centredness and political Utopia. These issues have been extracted, classified and presented as questions about political philosophy.

The relation between religion and government is one of the most important issues of the age of modernity; it played a major role in the political developments of that period. The present article presents an analytical study of the relation between religion and government according to Kant, making use of the evidence in support of this study.Kant believes that there are two types of religion: exoteric and esoteric, and concludes that the type that exists is the real religion represented in the escoteric type.In Kant¨s philosophy, rational religion and politics are interwoven is such a way that their separation can cause confusion to Kant¨s philosophy. The reason is because this type of religion is characterized by its wholeness and exclusivity. The main problem of this type of religion is that it is a product of human reasoning, not Divine revelation. Kant holds that religion is an institution which is independent of politics because this institution is concerned with historical religion which is devoid of the truth.

Pursuing the desired perfection and reaching this goal is the only alternative for achieving a meaningful life and for having purposeful human acitvities in this world. The ancient philosophers¨ views about the way of achieving this goal are hotly disputed by modern philosophers; each philosopher perceives things according to his own philosophical, political and moral inclination. Observing man¨s characteristics and conditions, both individually and socially, is of great importance. As one of the ancient Greek philosophers, Plato sees that man¨s individual aspect plays a major role in this respect and a citizen¨s excellence go alogside human excellence. According to Plato being a good man has priority over being a good citizen. As for Aristotle, he considers the citizen as the cornerstone in pursuing perfection and he lays more emphasis on citizens¨ excellence. He think¨s that citizen¨s excellence, when compared to man¨s excellence, is more attainable, owing to the fact that the first has an idealistic nature. The study contains a comparison between Plato¨s thoughts and Aristotle¨s thoughts.

One of the politico-historical phenomena of the last centuries, which was more or less a re-establishment of an ancient servitude stystem with an image apparenthy justified and acceptable, is imperialism. The direct or indirect presence of a number of colonail powers, mainly Eurponean, in many countries including Islamic countries is a noteworthy phenomenon, which should be taken into account when we want to study the current situation of these countries and their international status. The present article expounds the effects of the aforementioned important events on the subsequent changes. This phenomenon, i.e. imperialism is still prevalent, and the so-called independence of colonial territories is something formal. This article reviews, in a descriptive method, the short history, the way of advent of imperialists, the domestic circumstances that paved the way for imperialist¨s coming, and the effects of the presence of imperial powers in the various aspects.
