Several debates and scientific correspondences, in attendance, have taken place between the author of this article and professor John Hick from 2002 to 2012. The main part of this decennial critical debate and correspondence is a detailed criticism of Hick's theory of religious pluralism which is posed by the researcher of this article; he wrote the criticism and sent it for Mr. Hick, as he had requested, and he briefly wrote his response and sent it back to him. This article includes the first part of the collection of criticisms of the theory of John Hick which is being published for the first time. Posing some questions regarding the following key concepts, the author has questioned the theory of John Hick: 'religious pluralism', 'rescue', 'the ultimate matter', 'religion', 'religious tradition'.

This article will explain, investigate and criticize the concept of God from the perspective of the contemporary British Priest and theologian, John Macquarrie (born at 1919). Macquarrie bases his perspectives in philosophical theology on the existential thought of Martin Heidegger, the well-known German thinker. He tries to design religious theology using Heidegger's thought which is intrinsically non-religious and is not even theological – in the conventional meaning of theology. Therefore he compares 'existence' in Heidegger's thought with 'God' and produces his existential theology. Although his effort is theologically valuable, but has two criticisms from the perspective of Islamic theology: first of all, Macquarrie's theory which considers existence and God the same, encounters some problems; second of all, while he tries to explain the relation between existence and God, he confuses the concept and referent of existence. But according to the Islamic theology, 'existence' and God are not equivalent, and also the concept and referent of existence are exactly specified; and consequently the relation between God and existence are more exactly, easily and clearly explained. These points provide important bases for the criticism of Macquarrie's view. I have paid a special attention to Ibn-Sina and Molla-Sadra's views about existence in this article.

The following points indicate the fallacies of Adam (PBUH): the first meaning which comes to mind from Quran's verses about the story of Adam (PBUH) is that he has committed a fallacy; since God prohibited from getting close to the 'pure tree' and Adam and his wife were misled by Satan's temptations and ate from the 'prohibited tree' and they were thus expelled from the paradise and were descended to the earth. On the other hand the Shiite and Sunni interpreters and thinkers have always mentioned the infallibility of the Divine prophets and have analyzed and explained these verses. In this article I will criticize and investigate the different accounts of the Shiite and Sunni interpreters from this story; at the end the theory of some interpreters who say the prohibition is a 'guiding command' is confirmed and is considered as a suitable account which is in accordance with the points mentioned in the Holy Quran and justifies the infallibility of this Divine prophet (PBUH).

One of the main factors regarded in the definition of the meaningfulness of life among the presented definitions, is being purposeful. Being unaware of this purpose and consequently lack of a schedule to reach to this purpose has made some human pessimist and has made them feel absurd. Among Islamic thinkers, Molla-Sadra who has grown in the school of Islam, has presented a system in which the relation between human and the origin and the world is well explained. Inspired from religious teachings, there is a kind of connection, in the transcendental theosophy, between human, God and the existence in which the main factor which creates this connection is that God is the final purpose and destination. A correct understanding of this meaningful relation and putting a great effort in this regard, is the key of meaningfulness of human's life in Sadra's thought. The founder of the school of existentialism, S. Kierkegaard (1855- 1813), is also one of the Christian thinkers who seek for a noble destination and purpose for life inside Christianity. Having a critical approach to the present Christianity and criticizing the method of rationality in the field of religion, he tries to achieve a meaningful life; this is because he believes religion is superior compared with reason and human may achieve a noble and meaningful life only when he realizes his special 'existence' through an inward course. He believes option is inevitable for human because he is in authority and is a free creature. Therefore he elaborates the different steps of life to introduce a noble and meaningful life. Kierkegaard believes a meaningful life is equivalent with a religious and faithful life and considers achieving enthusiastic faith of God as the main condition of a meaningful life. In this article I have tried to present a comparative study of the perspectives of the two Muslim and Christian thinkers regarding human and meaningfulness of his life.

There are many conflicts in the explicability of God's essence. Some believe essence is not explicable but according to the ontological bases of Ibn-Arabi, essence is explicable. Explicability of essence has many results; it changes human's view to God and to the collection of knowledge related to God. First the idea of explicability of essence is posed in this article; then mentioning its ontological bases, this theory is proved and subsequently the results of this theory will be mentioned. Then I will mention the perception which shows that Ibn-Arabi believes the inexplicability of essence; I will criticize this idea and believe it is inacceptable. Finally the outcome of this discussion will be mentioned.

There are different perspectives regarding the following questions: does ethics depend on religion in practice? In other words, other than being aware of ethics, do we need any extra motivation to practice ethics? Is this motivation, religious motivation or it is should not necessarily be religious motivation and other motivations are enough as well? The perspectives regarding these subjects may be mainly divided into two groups: accordant and opponent views. The 'opponent' view, which belongs to Kant and his followers, believes not only religion does not help human to have ethical deeds, rather it harms it as well; on the other hand the 'accordant' view believes it is only religion which can compensate the existing gap between knowledge and practice. They believe not only believing in God reinforces and increases human's commitment to ethical values, rather it creates new values as well. This perspective has some defenders among Western ethical philosophers and Islamic ethical philosophers.

The theory and method of phenomenology has been formed in the West by Edmund Husserl after the philosophical crisis. He tried to release himself from the common presuppositions and explanations and present a method for the intuition of intrinsic meanings while he emphasized on cultural awareness, functions and obligations. Suspending the natural approach which he considered as the root of this misunderstanding, he tried to achieve a kind of pure awareness. Alfred Schutz who followed this perspective and method, also tried to transmit this theory from philosophy to sociology and presented a kind of descriptive and non-experimental research regarding exterior phenomena. The concepts he used in the explication of his theory has drawn the attention of sociologists. Although this theory has some flaws, but is close to some of the theoretical accomplishments of the Islamic thought including the suspension of the natural world and reduction of its role, presenting a dialectic image of the individual and the structure, and …; yet there are some basic differences from some perspectives as well.
