An adaptive terminal sliding mode control scheme is presented for Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) vibrational gyroscope system in this paper. In this approach the dynamics of the vibrational gyroscope system is eliminated by using inverse dynamic method to reduce the bounds of existing uncertainties. the designed terminal sliding mode control vector is provided a global asymptotic stability for close loop system with uncertainties. In this paper, an adaptive estimator is proposed to prevent the occurrence of a chattering problem at the control input, which has only one law. The mathematical proof shows that the closed loop system, with proposed adaptive terminal sliding mode controller with uncertainties has a global asymptotic stability. Four-phase simulations are implemented on the MEMS vibrational gyroscope system to demonstrate the performance of the controller and compare it with other similar controllers. The simulation results show that the proposed adaptive terminal sliding mode controller has desired performance.

Recently integrated navigation systems are developed to use the advantages of both inertial navigation and global positioning system. In such integrated navigation systems when the GPS signal is missed, the system works based on inertial navigation data. In this condition the navigation error increases progressive, especially when the INS sensors have low accuracy. To overcome this problem in most of the previous researches neural networks or support vector machines are applied to learn the navigation errors when the auxiliary navigation signal exists. As soon as the auxiliary navigation signal is lost the output of trained NN’s are summed with the output of inertial navigation system to remove the navigation errors directly. In this paper a method is proposed to decrease the navigation error rate in presence of process and measurement noise. Actually here multilayer perceptron neural networks are trained to learn the navigation errors when the auxiliary navigation signal is received, then the output of neural networks are applied to a Kalman filter which estimates the navigation errors. Simulation is carried out on three different 6Dof paths. The results show that the proposed method is independent of flight path and has more effective performance in compare with mentioned methods.

In this research, an analytical analysis is used to investigate the effects of elasticity modulus of different arrangements (zigzag, chiral, armchair) on the vibrations responses of boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) under initially stress. By using the Euler– Bernoulli and Timoshenko nonlocal elasticity theories, the governing equation of motion and boundary conditions are derived via Hamilton’s principle. The analysis considers beams with four different boundary conditions, namely pinned-pinned, fixed-fixed, pinned-fixed and fixed-free. The elasticity modulus of zigzag, armchair and chiral is studied and the effects of these arrangements on natural frequency are investigated. Finally, the effect of various parameters such as nanotube diameter, initial stress, nonlocal parameter and geometric parameters of BNNTs on the natural frequency of zigzag, armchair and chiral BNNTs has been studied. The results show that the natural frequency is decreased when nonlocal parameter and initial stress increase. Furthermore, we observe an increase in natural frequency as nanotube diameter is increased up to 0.6nm while afterwards there is no noticeable change in natural frequency.

In this study, the simultaneous vehicle-handling and lateral stability improvement of a Four-wheeled vehicle through an active robust control system is proposed. The control system is designed based on a simplified dynamic model and on the basis of sliding mode control method. The active steering control system is used to eliminate the the error between the actual and desired responses. In this control system, two state variables, namely the yaw rate and the lateral velocity of the vehicle are controlled as the target responses using active steering. Also, a fourteen degrees-of-freedom nonlinear dynamic model of a Four-wheeled vehicle is initially developed, and then it validated using CarSim software for standard maneuver. Then, the vehicle dynamic performance is evaluated for both uncontrolled and controlled states. The simulation results show the active steering control system not only improves the vehicle handling but also increases the lateral stability of the vehicle, especially under a critical maneuver in which considerable instability occurs.

Aircraft flight simulators with motion systems play a major role in improving education quality, flight safety and reducing training costs. Stewart mechanism is one of the simulator motion systems, which is a six-degree of freedom mechanism with coupled structures which makes its dynamical control analysis become more complicated. In this research, an electro-mechanical motion mechanism with six degrees of freedom has been completely analyzed and designed. With respect to the translational and rotational velocity and acceleration, and weight of cabin complex, kinematic relations of the machine, motions in work space with moving platform have been analyzed to calculate the positions, velocity and acceleration at any moments. The effects of various parameters such as roll, yaw, pitch, the linear and angular velocity and acceleration of the top platform on the force and speed of the operators are numerically studied finally. its components, namely electro-motor power, the length and diameter of ball screw, legs lenghth, lower platform, and leg linkage variations are, were analyzed and designed.

In this paper, a new constraint predictive PID controller is proposed and simulated for a flight vehicle with too many operating points. In this approach, the PID and the incremental predictive control methods are combined in order to use the benefits and resolve the disadvantages of the both methods. The constrained optimal signal of the new method is calculated by a simple algorithm without need to generate large matrices. Simplicity of the presented controller with small dimensions is the reason for the implementation capability of the method for flight vehicle control system with many operating points. Since the generalized incremental predictive control has high robustness in the presence of the unmodeled uncertainties, the presented predictive based controller covers many operating points. The designed method is implemented for three channels of a flight vehicle and then, successfully tested in the hardware in the loop lab. Simulation results show high robust performance and real time implementation capability.

One of the main important components which are used in the shaped charges is liner that its material has a considerable influence on the jet formation and penetration profile. In recent years, researches have focused on the analysis of the effect of bimetallic liners and their effective behavior. In this paper, at the first step, the process of jet formation and the penetration in the steel target is numerically simulated for a shaped charge with copper liner using the Ansys-Autodyn software. Analytical solutions have been done using generalized PER theory for jet formation and hydrodynamics theory for penetration; as well the experimental tests were performed with copper liner. The comparison of penetration profiles obtained from numerical, experimental and analytical methods showed a good agreement. Then, the validated numerical simulations were developed for two single-metal liners of nickel and aluminum, and two bimetallic copper-nickels, and copper-aluminum liners. Also, the results of jet tip velocity, penetration depth and crater diameter have been compared between single and bimetallic liners. Regarding to jet formation and penetration in steel target, the comparison between single and bimetallic liners results shows that the using bimetallic liners, improve crater diameter and depth of penetration simultaneously.

In this study, mechanical properties including impact strength, elastic modulus and elongation at break of nanocomposites based on polypropylene/ Carboxylated Nitrile Rubber (PP/XNBR) were optimized by using response surface methodology (RSM). The samples were produced using a co-rotating twin screw extruder including 0,2,4 Wt.% of nano particles, 0, 5, 10 Wt.% of XNBR and 0,3,6 Wt.% of Polypropylene-g-glycidyl Methacrylate (PP-gMA) as compatibilizer. Impact and tensile tests were carried out to obtain impact strength, elastic modulus and elongation at break of nano composites. The results of analysis of variance showed that all three major factors silica nanoparticles, Carboxylated Nitrile Rubber and PP-gMA as compatibilizer effect on the mechanical properties with a higher probability of 90%. Also, Fisher's probable quantity values showed that silica nanoparticles had the greatest effect on the elastic modulus and XNBR had the greatest effect on impact strength and elongation at break. On the other hand, for each mechanical property, a regression model with a desirability of over 85% was obtained. Finally, the optimal values of the nano-composites were predicted to be 1.6162 wt% for silica nano powder, 10 wt% for XNBR, and 4.9697 wt% for PP-gMA.

In this paper, the nonlinear vibration analysis of a symmetric laminated composite cylindrical shell on a viscoelastic foundation under a subsonic external air flow has been investigated. The boundary conditions for both ends of the cylindrical shell are clamped conditions. The governing equations of motion in the longitudinal, circumferential and radial directions are derived in conducture with the Donnel’s nonlinear shell theory. Using Galerkin method, three nonlinear partial differential equations of motion are transformed to a nonlinear ordinary equation of motion governing lateral (radial) vibration of the shell. Then, the relations for linear and nonlinear natual frequencies and amplitude-dimensionless natural frequency of the shell are calculated. The effects of variations in different values of parameters including orientation angles of lamina in layerwise laminate, stiffness and damping of viscoelastic foundation and the external applied load on the free and forced vibration behavior of the shell are all studied in this paper analyses. Moreover, the time history of radial displacement of midpoint of the shell using linear and nonlinear analyses. Are also presented.
