The exact identification of the orientalists’ views about Islamic teachings and the criticism of their scientific views is of inevitable importance for Muslims. Therefore, in the current study, we have tried to introduce and investigate the pathology of the Antichrist article in the “Leiden Encyclopedia of Qur’an” with a descriptive analytic method. “Neal Robinson”, the author of the article, has investigated the content relevant to the Antichrist with reference to the Bible and the Islamic traditions. A comparative approach, which is considered to be its virtues, toward the Bible and the Islamic traditions can be seen in the above-mentioned article. Using some of the poor Islamic traditions in clarifying some of the contents relevant to the Antichrists is considered to be one of the weaknesses of this author’s writing.

The current research explains one of the important Messianic teachings named as “Awaiting from the view of Sunnis”. Awaiting as the basic belief among the Sunnis has features and several subjects that by reviewing every one of them, the aspects of Awaiting becomes clearer and more recognized. For example, once the “the Awaiting cognitive approach” which can be divided to the “Hadith-centered” and “belief-centered” approaches is presented and through this, the existential scope of Awaiting in the Sunnis’ Hadith collections and the books are realized; the other time, we are after presenting other discussions such as “the cognitive nature and the cognitive function of Awaiting” and by analyzing the Awaiting from these two perspectives, we are led to a division into a General and Specific Awaiting, and also the positive and negative Awaiting. In the discussion of knowing the functions of Awaiting which includes the variations such as positive and negative Awaiting, Sunni scholars have comprehensively dealt with this issue in their statements and writings and attempted to express their differences with the exact criteria. Moreover, they have paved the ground for the promotion of positive Awaiting among the Sunnis by describing the non-productive role of negative Awaiting and by explaining the influential role of positive Awaiting.

“Savorism” (Mahdism) has been investigated as a priceless legacy of Shiism from various angles. However, attending to its function in the emergence of the greatest revolution of the century can reveal its hidden aspects. On the other hand, the Islamic Revolution of Iran has been an interesting subject for the researchers from different angles. For this reason, a number of well-known sociologists have tried to analyze its factors on one hand and its effects on the other hand and lessen its complexity. In order to explain the function of Mahdism in the emergence of Islamic Revolution, we can use three sociological models: “mental-psychological model”, “structural-organizational model”, and “discourse model”. Although referring to the speeches of the revolutionary leader shows that Mahdism has been used in the two model of mental and structural, one should not restrict this progressive teaching to these two components. Mahdism has challenged the legitimacy of the current regime by creating a targeted discourse against the discourse of power and provide a plan with alternative values for the establishment of a new government. This can be regarded as a great function for Mahdism in the Iranian society.

Considering the difference in methods in narration schools, investigating the method of each of the three narration schools of Qom, Baqdād and Isfahān can acquaint us with a set of thoughts that have in line or different views in the basics of obtaining and narrating the tradition. In the current research we try to express the methodology of messianic traditions from the view of these three schools: from the narration schools of Qom, the book of Kamal Ad-Deen and Tamām An-Ne’mah of Sheikh Saduq; from the narration school of Baqdād, the book of Al-Ershād of Sheikh Mufid; and from the narration school of Isfahān, the book of Bahār Al-Anwār of Allāmeh Majlesie are chosen. Among the objectives are recognizing the principles and the criteria of the authors for selecting, reporting, analyzing and explaining the content and the validity of the messianic narrations. Thus, we use a comparative study and express the aspects of similarities and differences between these three books.

According to the traditions by Imams, the Prophet’s will is one way to prove the Imamate. And this will, in the Shi’ite sources, points to twelve people the first of whom is Imam Ali (PBUH) and the last one is Imam Mahdi (PBUH). Also, the will used in proving the Imamate is of two kinds of written and clear each of which has some features. In this article, we discuss the written will and analyze its features in Shia hadith sources. Finally, the result is that during the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’s life time, God has sent down a written letter with twelve Seals to him by Gabriel and stated the name of the twelve Imams and their life guidelines. By proving this, anyone who claims to be an Imam, while his name is not mentioned in the will, is surely a liar. The need to review the hadith sources and the abuse of the meaning of the written will by the false claimants and the how of taking advantage of this standard is the other motivating reason to write this paper and the used method in this article is descriptive-analytic.

One of the Sufism branches in the recent period is the “Gonābādies”. This group which is a branch of “Nimatullāhī” has specific beliefs in relation to religious beliefs. Including that, they have certain views toward the issue of awaiting and the how of the realization of Vicegerency at the Occultation period and the duties of those waiting to benefit from this Vicegerency: such as claiming a kind of special representation in the spiritual and sainthood matters for their dignitaries in order to guide people in the Occultation period, the necessity of swearing allegiance by the followers to the pole of the sect for the perfection of their faith and the acceptance of their deeds, special utilization of the titles and nicknames such as the Pole, Sheikh, Pillars and the Substitutes that this itself gradually undermines the importance and the place of the Infallible Imam and his mediating role in the grace and guidance. Also, presenting the issue of having permission at the Occultation period and extending these permissions to the Imam of the Time and the progenitor of their Vicegerency to Imam Ali (PBUH) is one of their beliefs. Thus, the result of such connections from the view of the Gonābādies is the realization of correct awaiting and guidance during the Occultation period is based on the necessity of knowledge and wisdom of poles who have special permissions from the Imams succession and have the unseen inspirations and special power in the spiritual guidance from the Imams.
