Perception has various kinds, and most important of it is the rational perception. One of the important issues in philosophy is the knowing the identity and understanding how to achieve to it. From the perspective of Avicenna, there are two approaches in this topic. The first one is the theory of abstraction of quiddity from separable accidents. Avicenna believes that perception is the resulting of abstraction from external object and infusion it in the soul. In other word, the soul abstracts sensory forms from their matter and then makes them immaterial. When this abstraction is completed, rational perception will occur. The second one is the theory of the soul's connection with active intellect. There is non-material substance in the universe and it consist the intelligible realities. When the soul is connected to the intellectual substance, the special rational forms designed on the soul. In this article, both approaches are studied and reviewed.

Corporal resurrection and its quality and possibility are among the issues which have been discussed by Islamic philosophers who have tried each to make intellect and tradition compatible in relation to resurrection. One of these philosophers is Hakim-e Sabzevari who has provided intellectual reasons to prove the possibility and occurrence of bodily resurrection and responded to the doubts raised over corporal resurrection and its quality. Hakim-e Sabzavari does not consider the body which will be united with the self in the resurrection day as an elemental body. He rather gives the originality to self and the external form of man and not to his body. As the objectivity of the body is due to its external form not its substance, with the annihilation of the body substance, the external form which constitutes the essence of man remains endlessly to unite the soul in the hereafter. The difference between Hakim-e Sabzevari’s views and those of Mulla Sadra lies in the fact that Mulla Sadra believes that the soul due to its creativity constructs a body similar to the one in this world; while, Sabzevari denies the creation of a new body and believes that what unites the soul in the hereafter is the external form of the body which remains in this world and is transferred to the hereafter through the substantial movement of the soul and its otherworldly evolution.

The principle of complementarity which is based on Heisenberg's principle of uncertainty is one the most controversial theories of quantum physics. The implication of this principle is that there is no absolute truth in the world of science and in turn non-causal picture of nuclear phenomena and non-determination. We are here, encountered with an inherent limitation in principle, not just in practice. The wave-particle duality has been at the heart of quantum mechanics. Einstein believed that one could confirm both wave-like and particle-like behaviors in the same interferometry  experiment. Although Einstein ultimately failed to achieve this goal, professor Afshar managed to show a discrepancy in the predictions of Bohr's principle of complementarity and its consequences. In this paper we report on the ontological consequences of Afshar experiment.

The present paper is concerned with the different readings of the Quranic verses on God’s attributes and demonstrates that theological motives of the readers of Quran makes a difference in the reading of verses of Quran about the attributes of God. In fact, theological motivations have a great effect in suggestion and appearance of different readings of Quran. Thus, in many verses, on the one hand, we are faced with early and authentic reading that creates theological problems for some minds or at least the readings are not considered consistent with the assumptions of readers. On the other hand , there is a different form of reading which is intended to resolve the issue and shapes a  meaning consistent with the reader’s assumptions. The present paper intends to show the effect of divine assumptions in appearance of different readings of Quran and , in addition, it shows that the different readings shape different interpretations  of verses on attributes of God.

The discussion of will and its relationship with the problem of evil has an important position in Augustine’s thought. He was a legatee of the stoics in this realm, but he later formulated it with a new Platonic schema. It has been claimed that he considered evil as non-entity, and with regard to moral evil, he viewed evil as the lack of good will. Therefore, will is divided into good and evil. The main point, in this narrative, is that although good will has an existential cause, bad will lacks existential cause. Therefore, its cause is the avoidance of good will and deeds. Apparently, Augustine’s platonic response to the problem of evil has encountered a dilemma. The dilemma consists in compromising the freedom of human will and its relationship with the concept of God’s grace and mercy. Drawing on Augustine’s texts, particularly City of God and the treatise On Free Will and the essay About the Nature of Good, we try first to present a formulation of Augustinian theory concerning the relationship between will and evil; then, we demonstrate the problematic relationship between free will and divine grace in the Augustinian’s narrative of the problem of evil. Apparently the very issue has forced Augustine to formulate his Platonic theory of evil.

In second order study of Science, The duality between Epistemic and social nature of science is a challenge for metaphysic of science. In this paper, we have an overview of the Muslim logicians' pattern of science, they have three questions: (1) what is the criterion of the unity of a science and distinguish it from other sciences? (2) How a Scientific claims will bring out the knowledge? (3) What are the components of a science? The authors criticize the logical pattern because it has not attention into the social aspects of science. "Social nature of science" is belonging to the "scientific community" and "scientific activities" are conducted within a "research tradition". Sciences and their components are constructed entities, which can bring out conceptual ideas methodically for in the minds of scientists. If Scientists have Premises in mind then they can have certain proof and knowledge, but most of these scientific claims and ideas are at least confidence.

Voluntarism and Evidentialism are two competing approaches to Ethics of Belief. Louis P. Pojman, the American contemporary philosopher, has taken a critical view toward these two approaches and proposed the theory of indirect prescriptive volunteerism.  Based on this theory, in belief formation, arguments are considered as important as background and contextual factors and rationality is considered the best criterion in evaluation of insufficient or conflicting evidence. Based on this sort of volunteerism, under specific conditions, it is morally permissible or even obligatory to defend a belief in spite of evidence pointing against it. In this article, an attempt is made to provide an accurate description of Pojman’s viewpoint concerning the ethics of belief, and an analysis of the theory and the conditions to be satisfied for a belief to be morally permissible based on volunteerism.

There are numerous works on logic by Avicenna (Ibn Sina). With critical scrutiny, one can observe an evolutionary process in these works, both in their content and in the order of the logical subjects. With the aid of those works whose date of development is specified, we can determine how Avicenna’s logic evolved. On this basis, we can divide the evolutionary process to three phases: the first period which is Aristotelian, the middle period which is a departure from Aristotle, and the final period in which Avicenna presents his own account and segmentation of logic. Finally, on the basis of this division, we can find the date of those works on logic for which no date is specified.
