One of the most sensitive periods of Islamic history is the times of Imam Hasan Askari (a.s) which, from the view of intellectual, doctrinal and political problems as well as from the aspect of the then present sects and various trends and also from the view of history, is considered as a peculiar period of time. In this period, the deviating sects and schools of thought, one after another, emerged with the aim to mislead Muslims while the Imam (a.s) stood against the digressions like forging hadith and traditions and casting doubts about Quran, with his insightfulness and he used to explicate the real and correct faith.
Despite the Imam’s (a.s) short life, abundant books including a book of Tafseer (the commentary on holy Quran) is ascribed to him, which shows the high cognitive status of Imam (a.s).
Imam Askari (a.s), in his times, was considered as the “Marja`-e-`ilmi” (the cognitive reference) and the intellectual backing for Shias while he spent his most time of Imamah in prison whereas he used to take help from his representatives to communicate with the Shias. The practice of this vicegerent system prepared Shias for the occultation of Hazrat Mahdi (a.s).
This article, meanwhile explaining the various circumstances of the times of Imam Hasan Askari (a.s) and his cognitive and religious status, explains the reason of ruthlessness of the caliphs regarding Hazrat (a.s) and his manner of guidance for Shias throughout this period.

Abbasids came on the caliphate in second century after Hijrah while the Iranians had noticeable presence in the axis of power in the era of Mamoon; but the Turks gradually gained their influence in government, in the period of Mu`tasim though a serious hazard was threatening the Abbasid caliphs from their side. In this era, due to inadequacy of caliphs and the prevalence of corruption and bribery in government, the social gap and powerty was pervasive among the people.
In that period of time, Mutawakkil adopted the policy of favouring Ahlulhadith and suppressing the Mutazillahs and Shias while the result of this change in government's approach became in the form of authoring several traditional encyclopedias and Sahihs of Alussunnah. The principle of Ziyarah is the spiritual communication of a person with the Aowliya` (friends) of Allah whereas the superior state of Ziyarah is that which comes out from the depths of heart. The heart of faithful is the real home of Allah. Perhaps Husain ibne Ali (a. s) has millions of tombs in whole world. Human being is Divine manifestation and Allah makes epiphany in him. Faithfull's heart is like a well. All the oceans cant be fit in a well of one cubic meter; whereas one cubic meter of ocean can be fit in it. «Aarifan Behaqqeh» (the real recognizer) means; man should know to whom he is performing Ziyarah. Man, while he gives himself up, finds Allah. Ziyarah can be performed through the heart. There is a Ziyarah of Imam Husain (a. s) from remote distance. Ali (a. s) is the embodiment of the wishes of Allah and the manifestation of Divine attributes, names and impressions. Those who love Ali (a. s) are indeed the lovers of Allah. All of our Imams (a. s) are the guests of Hazrat Zahra (s. a). O Allah! Your rank is so dignified that I appear mounted before You. Each step has the reward equal to Hajj and Umrah.
These are a part of the answers of seven questions asked by Hazrat Aayatullah Haeri Sherazi in a conversation. This writing contains the detailed discussion.

The infallible Imams (a.s) are the best preachers of the real Islam as they are the real successors of the holy Prophet (PBUHH); whom teachings are the light of guidance and the guide for the correct path of life.
