Ibn Taymiyyah has regarded Shia's prominent scholars such as Heshām b. Hakam and Heshām b. Sālim as the early Shia scholars advocating anthropomorphism i.e. the act of giving human qualities to God. He claims there is consensus among the authors of al–Milal wa al-Nihal (lit. the books of sects and creeds).  It should be noted, however, that firstly, Heshām b. Hakam and Heshām b. Sālim cannot be considered as the first of scholars believing in anthropomorphism because there have been others before these scholars who had anthropomorphic views. Secondly, not only is there no consensus as to the anthropomorphic belief of Heshām b. Hakam and Heshām b. Sālim but there are some scholars who have considered these two as free of such beliefs. Thirdly, those scholars who have authored books on sects and creeds are deeply polarized in this regard. In fact, the allegation that Heshām b. Sālim had anthropomorphic beliefs can be seen in the works authored by recent writers only, not the early scholars. Fourthly, some Sunni scholars like Ash'ari and Shahristani, who have written books on sects and creeds, have justified Heshām b. Hakam's anthropomorphic words saying his statements are devoid of any objections.
As well, Ibn Taymiyyah has claimed that Shia is known for its belief in anthropomorphism saying there are more scholars in Shia believing in anthropomorphism than there are in any other Muslim sects. However, the truth of the matter is that attributing anthropomorphism to Shia is not in harmony with Shia's semantic interpretation (ta'vil). It is more consistent with the traditionists' literalism in this area.

The jihadist Salafism is a group that sees armed jihad as the only way to spread Islam. In advancing their thinking, they resort to every despicable act against their opponents interpreting jihad as an armed fight against the enemy, allowing decapitation of their opponents and captives. To legitimize their brutalities, they make reference to certain verses such as the verse 4 of Chapter Muhammad, verse 12 of Chapter al-Anfal and verse 67 of al-Anfal.  As well, they make use of narrations such as "I have been commissioned to chop off the necks", the Prophet's promise to behead the pagans of Quraish. Add to that the Second Caliph's permission in decapitating Dhul Khuwaysarah, and the Prophet's practice of beheading the captives of the Battle of Badr. However, a closer look into these arguments revealed the fact that the aforesaid verses do not in any way signify permissibility of decapitation, and that the narrations are also poor and disconnected, not to mention the fact that they have not been transmitted in reliable Sunni sources. In addition, Islam's pure teachings have strongly forbidden any conducts which may present Islam as a religion of violence. Relying on library and internet resources to analyze and describe takfiri Salafism in treating prisoners of war, this study seeks to criticize jihadist Salafis' views on this subject.

Legitimacy of caliph is one of the controversial issues between al-Qaeda and ISIS. Considering the importance and influence of these two groups over other radical and jihadist movements, this study seeks to examine the foundations of legitimacy of the caliph according to al-Qaeda and ISIS or ISIL. It is inferred from the arguments and reasons presented by both groups that they have four principles with the regards to legitimacy of the caliph. First, the caliph should be eligible for caliphate. Second, the caliph takes the caliphate through legal ways. Third, the caliph should command what has been revealed by God. Fourth, the caliph should be opposed to any form of Taghut (tyranny and sin).  These four principles are acceptable to both al-Qaeda and ISIS. However, the discrepancy between al-Qaeda and ISIS is in the application of the first and second principles to the ISIS's caliph. As for the third and fourth principle, these two groups' explanation contradicts the well-known explanation given by Sunnis and Salafists.  They make use of these two principles to reject and excommunicate the rulers of Muslim countries. The present article has reached this conclusion using a descriptive analytical method.

The validity of predecessors' understanding is among the most important fundamentals of Salafism. According to Salafists, the understanding and perception of the predecessors or the early Muslim scholars is better and more precise than that of the modern and contemporary scholars, and it is, therefore, necessary to turn to them to see how they have understood every single creedal and jurisprudential issue. That is because they lived close to the age of the Prophet (S) and they understood the truths better.  Hence, preference should be given to their understanding. Salafism interprets the tenets and codes of the religion relying on the predecessors' understanding. They accept the authoritativeness of the book which corresponds with the understanding of the early Muslim scholars. Relying on some verses and narrations and due, mainly, to the fact that the early Muslim scholars lived close to the age of the Prophet (S), Salafists seek to substantiate the authority of early scholars' understanding. However, these arguments suffer from difficulties and flaws because some of their reasons do not signify in the least the authoritativeness of the early scholars' understanding. Some reasons are poor and some others are more particular and limited than the claim itself.

One of the manifestations of deceit and trickery of the malevolent ones is the distortion and alteration of valuable religious documents. The distortion conspiracy has a long background in history and the Holy Quran has also dealt with it in different verses reprimanding vehemently the distorters and those who tamper with such texts. The Salafists especially the Wahhabis, however, have long been altering religious texts within the Islamic society. A question that comes up is whether or not it is possible to present instances of such malevolent actions by Wahhabis in religious works.  This article using an analytical – descriptive method seeks to provide solid proofs and well-demonstrated answers to the foregoing question, thus attempting to substantiate the affirmativeness of the answer with reliance on reliable sources.

A study of Islamic history and normative conduct of the Kharijites reveals the fact that the Kharijites were the most rigid group of their time with erroneous beliefs about Islam, Quran and divine vicegerency. Separating from general Muslim public and indiscriminate killing Muslims are two main characteristics which the Kharijites and ISIS have in common. Never do the minor differences which the ISIS extremists point out to exempt themselves, differentiate them from the Kharijites. Like the Kharijites, ISIS maintains that the truth is its monopoly; considers those hostile to it as heretics and Islam's enemies; treat a city of Muslims as Dar al-Kufr i.e. house of infidels. In this study, keeping in view Turki al-Binali's article on dissimilarity between ISIS and the Kharijites, it becomes clear that  Turki al-Binali's defenses are weak and baseless and that ISIS is very much characterized by the traits of the early Kharijites.
