Pages 7-33The problem of human deed`s Goodness and badness is one basic problem in theology, usuli fiqh and ethics; it may be studied in different aspect of semantics, ontology and epistemology. Whether goodness and badness are essential to deeds or not is ontological; but whether it is rational or not, is epistemological. Often, these two aspects are not properly distinguished and it leads to some fallacies. This paper, having distinguished the two aspects, deciding the place of dispute and describing epistemological consequences, has argued for rationality of those propositions of goodness and badness by giving three proofs. Upon the first, if the goodness and badness are not rational, one may not be of any knowledge of the goodness of human deeds at all, even by way of religion. The second proof proves that these propositions carry certainty and, therefore, are used in the premises of logical demonstration; they are not among those known only as well-known used in dialectic. On the third reason, the validity of certain deeds is known as self-evident and, thereof, certain and rational. Although numerous epistemological objections have been given against the proofs, finally the paper, giving certain arguments, has defended rationality of the goodness and badness of these propositions. Keywords: Goodness, Badness, Religious Goodness, Undoubtable Goodness, Self-Evident Goodness

Pages 35-59The paper, relying on Sadra`s view and principles, has studied the problem of death and answered its related questions like: What is the truth of death? Is death gradual or not? What is the cause of death? Does human being die only one time or more? What is the part of human death in perfection-seeking motion of the soul? Does one need to note various types of death for one`s soul to upgrade? What is the relation between death and human perfection? Considering the meaning and part of gradational state of existence in transcendent philosophy, how does this principle affect the problem of death? As understood by the study, death not only is a way to perfection but it itself is a kind of perfection also. It accelerates actualization of some potentials and its state of being perfect is gradational. Moreover, some kinds of death like martyrdom, being itself gradational and directing human potentialities and their actualization, change the way of development. Keywords: Death, Substantial Motion, Perfection, Gradation, Frequency of Death

Pages 61-81Human soul`s motion is regarded as a quite new problem brought up by reflecting on past philosophers` ideas. Though such philosophers as Avicenna and Mulla Sadra have not discussed the subject in isolation, one may prove the problem on the basis of their fundamental principles. Denying substantial and incorporeal motion, Avicenna views human soul as changing only in accidental and corporeal states, he does not deny development in purgatory. Mulla Sadra, however, views human soul as being of substantial motion; but this motion is limited to corporeality. In the paper, the philosophers` views on the subject have been mentioned at first and then, the place of dispute and main problem on the human soul`s motion have been studied. finally, six way as the capabilities of transcendental philosophy for proving and explaining the soul`s motion after death have been given. Keywords: Motion, Soul, Avicenna, Mulla Sadra, Immateriality, matter

Pages 83-102The issue under study in this article lies in surveying common and different points in Kant and Suhrawardi's concept of existence. Accordingly, we have studied the opinions of these two Western and Eastern philosophers about the division of concepts, the position of the concept of existence among the concepts as well as the influence of their views on the proofs for the existence of God. It can be said that Kant considers existence as being conventional and only of one meaning, that is the relations found between the subject and the predicate of propositions. While Suhrawardi, has viewed the concept of existence as being of three meanings, one conventional as that of Kant and the other non-conventional. As for proving the existence of God, their differences would be considerable as demanded by their considerations on the concept of existence. Keywords: Suhrawardi (Sheikh Ishraq), Kant, the Concept of Existence, Conventional Concepts, Predicative Existence, essentiality or Conventionality of existence

Pages 103-135A subject seriously worthy of study in the history of theology lies in various theological types of geographical regions. Meanwhile, Mesopotamia as an extended region has been hardly studied with regard to the field. This research with an analytico-descriptive method shows that how did some theological currents of Kufah School such as muhaddith theologians with Hesham`s leadership and muhaddithan theologians with Ya`qub ibn Zaid and Ayyub ibn Nuh`s leadership and hadith-based theologians of Qom`s school as well as rationalism of Baghdad`s school enter Mesopotamia and who developed them

Pages 137-165Though there may be found notable discussions on religious experience, the most notable discussions in the field originate from three problems: the what of religious experience, epistemological value of religious experience generally viewed and theological value of religious experience particularly viewed. The paper studies the three problems, the difference between western view and Islamic view in the field and different part of the phenomenon in the two mentioned traditions. In short, though religious experience may carry high degree of epistemological value for those of experience, those lack of such experience may not be logically obliged to agree with them; it may be met only as a confirmation and aspiration. Some western philosophers have viewed religious as essence of religion and some viewed religion as being based upon it. While, in Islamic tradition, it religious experience has been used for deeper understanding and higher degree of faith. Keywords: Religious Experience, Mystical Theology, Feeling, Objectivity, the Proof of Religious Experience, Religion, Revelation

Pages 167-190`Aql, intellect, with regard to its lexical meaning, essential properties and requisites is common in all intellectual beings, from the first intellect to human intellectual ability. On this reason, Ibn Arabi, when saying of intellect, regards its lexical meaning. Human intellects is viewed by him to be the grace and manifestation of the first. On this basis, the essence of human intellects, like that of the first intellect, is light and immaterial. Variety and numerous state of human souls lie in their corporeal aptitudes, not in their agent. Human intellect is of two aspects: one is for controlling natural instincts and directing them to lawful deeds. The other functions as a way and means for human knowledge of reality. Human intellect is of an immaterial identity and functions like a light that lighten the things. It, therefore, can perceive reality in accordance to its ability. Human intellect enjoys mental power to attain knowledge or take it from the Divine directly.

Pages 191-211Modern and technologic society of today, in spite of all its increasing development, has failed in providing mental peace needed for its members. Many attempts, therefore, have been made to provide such a peace for the people enjoying material comfort; yet, as seen clearly, the success has been little. The reason why lies in the fact that the missing link of the today society is spirituality. As viewed in the paper, it is possible for revealed religions to give true spirituality, level the path for truth-seekers, support the hope of salvation in the enjoying peoples` heart and be a powerful motive for facing the dangers. Relying on the Islamic essential sources, the author has intended to explain the principles and components of true spirituality; a fact rooted in reality, upgrading human spirit and related somewhat to human deeds. Keywords: Spirituality, Principles, Components, Islamic Essential Sources

Pages 213-234Religious pluralism and trueness of religions has been known as one important problem in the fields of religious studies and philosophy of religion. What meant here lies in a reasonable and Quranic consideration toward completion of the discussion and agreement between reason and religion. The study has been followed by the conclusion that it is not impossible for a religion to be true and other religions be false and salvation and happiness be limited in the true religion. And it should be, finally, stated that in spite of limitation of trueness in one religion, the followers of all religions may live in peace as explained by the language of the holy Quran. Keywords: Religious Pluralism, Trueness of Religions, Peaceful Relation
