To recognize the nature of the tensions between Iran and Arabic countries, especially Saudi Arabia, we first should answer to this question seriously that why Iran phobia’s hegemonic project became popular among Arabic countries, particularly Saudi Arabia. In response to this question, it is supposed that Lucluo and Moufe analysis model can be helpful in the analyzing the discussion of hegemonic discourses. It was used because in one hand it shows that the discourse of Iran phobia is constructed by the western media and Arabic countries, particularly Saudi Arabia, and on the other hand, it considers the discourse of Islam phobia, Iran phobia, and Shia phobia are based on some historical and religious basis that could get high popularity among Arabic Sunnis greatly. Typically, historical debates between Arabs and non-Arabs, and Shiites and Sunnis are theorized in Iran-phobia discourses.

Salafi thought and the phenomenon of violent extremism are the most interesting issues in political and international studies. However, with a reductive and impressive attitude from our Islam with fundamentalism it is attempted to despose the whole of Islam from extremism despite the diversity of intellectual, theological, philosophical and political varieties. However, it seems recognizing the nature of extremism requires deep study on the forming the layers of contemporary political Islam. The purpose of this paper is to explain the theoretical concept and objective flow of “extremism in political Islam. The main question of this study is ‘how the roots of identity and normative elements of extremism in political Islam are explained.’ To answer to this question it was hypothesized that ‘Salafist- Hadith groups are defined as the “Radical Political Islam” flow because they believe that they can revive the Islamic Caliphate and implement Sharia law by violent struggle to gain power and violent overthrow of governments through takfir opponents. To examine the hypothesis, the conceptual charts of intellectual flow and realtions of salafi groups with each other as well as the normative features of extreme political Islam as the main source of internal consistency of the extremism identity in the political Islam framework are presented.

This article primarily focuses on the methodological challenges related to the religious identity of Muslims in the contemporary world. Dedliberate study of the literature clearly indicates the fact that Muslims have been in forefront attention of a substantially growing body of studies in the more recent years. This article has highlighted the main socio-economic and demographic characteristics of Muslims both globally and regionally including the Islamic countries, Europe, the US and the Pasific. The underlying conclusion of this analysis emphasizes the key methodological strategy. It states as Muslims are substantially heterogeneous populations, their various socio-economic contexts must be considered in the related studies to avoid delivering misleading knowledge. This methodological strategy tends to particulary apply to Muslims who are the world’s fastest-growing population.

The importance of investigating relations of convergence of Iran and Pakistan is due to the fact that during several recent decades (especially, after Islamic revolution of Iran), they could not make acceptable relations as what is deserved because of some problems – mostly ideological ones - between two friend and neighbor countries. This fact results in the general opinion that the nature of relations of Iran and Pakistan is critical, unreliable, and divergent. On this basis, this research attempts to answer the question of how Iran and Pakistan can experience convergent relations. The research hypothesis is that, despite the current tensions between the two countries, which are mostly unwanted, there are opportunities for convergence and desired relations between the two countries. Historically, both countries have many cultural (geocultural), geopolitical, and geographical relations. This can lead to achieving more desired relations in other fields so that two countries can be able to promote mutual relations with better and more serious participation in regional groupings such as political-economical treaty of Shanghai, economical treaty of ECO, Islamic Countries Organization, and the group called D-8 with dual nature of geopolitics–geoeconomics relations. In addition, the exports and imports of nonenergic (non–oil goods) and energic sources (gas sources and other fossil sources) can be part of Geo-economic relations between Iran and Pakistan. This research is a descriptive-analitical study. The research data has been gathered in documentary method referring to valid sources such as books, published papers, and valid reports.

Although regionalism has a long history among political actors, it has been seriously considered as an academic and theoretical subject in the field of international relations since World War II. Meanwhile, we should find the first level of political regionalism among sub-national actors and then among macro regionalism. The transition to the dynamics of regionalism among such actors requires three-dimensional model influenced by specific sources and components. Insight Sources, Motivational Sources, and Environmental Sources are the three dimentions of the transition to regionalism among sub-national actors. The present study, which is descriptive analytical, has chosen thirty-year-old history of relations between Amal and Hezbollah movements as comparative pattern for implementing the aforementioned three-dimensional theoretical model and attempts to show how these three mentioned sources are importanct in integrating the two movements.

In the Ninth century, Sufi movement emerged in Iran as a powerful political force and established a new government named the Safavid monarchs. In this stage, the Sufis used politicized Shiite as the top discourse evidence of nationalism. The intersection of religion and nationality in Safavi discourse caused Religious unity become the basis for political unity after about 900 yeears – after Sasanians- and national identity emerged in Iran. In these situations, Shia Safavid discourse was formed as a factor to strengthen national identity. This discourse spread its hegemony called “the super powerful king” against the Ottoman Caliphate and other foreign competitors through otherization, highlighting, layout and marginalization. The present study aims at reviewing the role of safavid Shiism in national identity using theoretical framework and analytical instruments adopted from of Laclau and Mouffe’s discourse analysis.

Since the emergence in Levant, including Iraq and Syria, ISIS Takfiri, the Terrorist Group, has claimed Khorasan Province (Afghanistan & some regions in central Asia) as part of its teritory and in this way proclaimed its identity under this title. The questions about the presence of ISIS in Khorasan Province, especially in central Asia, which is the research focus, are: what are the main contexts of ISIS formation & influence in this region? What potentials and capacities does central Asia possess to give this extremist Group the opportunity of emergence? Temporary answer to this question as the hypothesis is that authoritarian and secular political structure, wrong approach and actions of regional governments in facing extremism, extremist fundamentalist groups in the region, volatile and complex social context in central Asian countries, critical geographic hot spots such as FerganaValley and Afghanistan and presence of civilians of countries of the region in ISIS ranks are the most important factors which led to appearance of ISIS. The design of the present article is descriptive-analytical method and the related data were collected through library and online sources.
