The present study was done to evaluate the effectiveness of some kinetic and kinematic features of healthy athletes during increased heel strike pattern. This case-control study was carried out on 13 professional healthy male athletes in two positions of normal and increased heel strike gait patterns. Range of motion, knee and ankle joint torque and vertical ground reaction force measured by the Kistler and Vicon motion analysis system. Results showed that increased heel strike compare to normal level walking caused significantly reduced knee flexion angle at the moment of heel contact and stance phase, mean values of external rotational and adductor knee moments. In addition, increased ankle dorsiflexion during midstance was significantly high in increase heel strike pattern compare to usual pattern. It seems that increased heel strike pattern decreases knee mechanical loading and more importantly, increasing elasticity of gastrocnemius-soleus muscles provided by heel strike pattern.

Quantifying dynamic stability of athletic skills help to identification of motor behavior complexity to reduce injury and improve performance. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of training on local dynamic stability in vertical jump maneuver. Twenty young male subjects (control (n=10), exercise (n=10)) participated in this study. Hip and knee kinematics and ground reaction forces data during vertical jump were recorded at pre-test and post-test. Exercise group participated in the vertical jump training program for four weeks (Twelve 40-minute sessions). Using largest finite- time Lyapunov exponent; a nonlinear method; local dynamic stability of hip and knee angular positions was calculated. The results showed that following increase in vertical jump height, selected protocol training significantly improved the dynamical stability of the knee joint. It seems, increasing vertical jump height following training, leading to greater stability of the knee joint rather than the hip.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of eight weeks core stability training on center of pressure changes and ground reaction force during landing among male parkour athletes. thirty male were participated in this study. participants were randomized in the experimental group (age=21.07±2.46 years, height= 175.10±5.35 cm, weight= 67.33±9.27 kg) and control group (age=20.20±2.31 years, height= 175.93±4.65 cm, weight= 67.33±8.45 kg) in this semi-experimental study. Experimental group applied eight weeks core stability training. These exercises performed three time per week while the control group performed their routine training. The variables including center of pressure changes and ground reaction force were measured before and after eight weeks core stability training by force plate. Analysis of covariance was used in the 0/05 significant level. The results showed that there was significant difference between experimental and control groups in the mean scores of center of pressure changes in medial- lateral and anterior-posterior direction and ground reaction force. According to results, seems core stability training has positive effect on landing parameter among male parkour athletes and these exercise can prevent sport injuries of them.

One of the most common site of injury in sport is the ankle which accounts for 25% of all sports injuries. The relationship between anatomical alignment of the lower extremity and injury occurrences in this joint is unclear. Twenty five male athletes with ankle injury and 25 healthy randomly selected and participated in this study. Foot arch index, navicular drop, tibia vara, knee hyperextension, tibia torsion, ankle dorsiflexion ROM, core muscle endurance, static and dynamic balance were measured in samples. Comparing measured data by using independent t-test and Mann–Whitney U test showed that there were significant differences in foot arch index and tibia vara measures between the two groups. While there were no significant difference in navicular drop, knee hyperextension, tibia torsion, ankle dorsiflexion ROM, dynamic and static balance and core muscle endurance measures between groups. Accordingly, lower extremity malalignment may be involved in the occurrence of ankle injury.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the relationship between maximum lower extremities joint moment with maximum ground reaction force during single leg drop landing. Thirty athletes volunteered to participate in this study. Kinetics and kinematics variables during single leg drop landing were collected by motion analysis and force plate. The results indicated that there was no significant correlation between peak moment of flexion, adduction and rotation of hip and ankle joint with maximum vertical ground reaction force. However, significant correlation was identified between peak moment of knee and subtalar joint with maximum ground reaction force. The findings of this study showed that there is a relationship between vertical ground reaction force and moment of knee and subtalar joint. Therefore, whatever the vertical ground reaction force is higher, the amount of load to this joints is more and can make the joints more susceptible to injury.
