Nozj is a unique heterogeneous complex phenomenon discussed extensively by Traditional Persian Medicine (TPM) scholars, as a rheological change in matter for better consumption or excretion. Nozj is closely related to the many stages of digestion and affects many aspects of health and disease. Nozj status in different parts of body may be assessed and monitored using many signs and symptoms regularly not considered fairly important to other schools of treatment especially the mainstream medicine. Uncompleted process of Nozj leads to accumulation of different substances in different parts of the body. This process, generally be named as the "Bad-anbaasht" syndrome, predisposes a wide variety of famous known medical conditions.

The phenomenon of inflammation is the base of many acute and chronic diseases. New effective antiinflammatory drugs are needed to battle side effects of acute and especially chronic inflammation and incomplete treatment of patients suffering from these side effects. For this purpose, in the present study, we evaluated Ruta graveolens L. (R. graveolens) as a folk herb for treatment of inflammation. In an experimental-interventional study, anti - inflammatory effects of R. graveolens, a Persian Medicine (PM) plant, were examined with formalin-induced hind paw edema model in rats. Sodium Salicylate (300mg/kg, ip, SS) was injected as a positive control group and compared with three doses of methanolic extract of R. graveolens (Meth) (50, 100 and 200 mg/kg; i.p.), two doses of ethanolic extract of R. graveolens (Eth) (50 and 100 mg/kg; i.p.) and a group of distilled water (6 mL/kg; i.p.). The results showed that R. graveolens has acute and chronic anti-inflammatory properties and prevents inflammation. These effects were found to be effective like SS.

    Introduction
Despite the reduction in the incidence of gastric cancer during the past 75 years, it remains the most common cause of death from cancer in Iran and now despite all the progress made, the 5-year survival of patients is generally 15%. Thus, improvement in current treatments seems necessary. Given the richness of Iranian medicine in ancient texts, a detailed study of the effects of medicinal plants native to Iran in particular is essential. In this research, the cytotoxicity effect of Arnebia euchoromaon AGS was reviewed.
    Materials And Methods
In this study, cells were cultured in RPMI at different concentrations of Arnebia euchoroma extract (5,2,1,0.2,0.1,0.05 and 0.02 mg/ml) at intervals of 24,48 and 72 h and the number of living cells compared with the control group and cytotoxicity effect were measured by MTT assay.
    Results
Within 24 hours, drug effects on reduction of cell growth of AGS in comparison to the control group at 5, 1, 0.1, 0.05 and 0.02 mg/ml were significant (P values are 0.0305, 0.0465, 0.0137, 0.0274 and 0.0003, respectively). Within 48 hours, concentrations of 0.1 and 0.02 mg/ml were significant (P values are 0.0398 and 0.0143).Within 72 hours, 5, 0.05 and 0.02 mg/ml reductions were significant (P values are 0.0402, 0.0073 and 0.0349, respectively).
    Conclusion
According to the results, Arnebia euchoroma significantly has no killing effect on AGS. Only in the 0.02 mg/ml concentrations the reduction was significant at three times, with a fatality rate of about 20%, which is not enough to be considered cytotoxic.

Lallemantia royleana seeds have been used in Persian traditional medicine during the ages. The seeds are known as “Balngu” in Iran and still are widely used as an ethnomedicine for treatment purposes such as in gastrointestinal disease, kidney and urinary disorders and skin complications. In this study, antioxidant and total phenolic content of L. royleana seeds were investigated. Seeds of L. royleana (50 g) were crushed using a laboratory mill. Ground material (50 g) was extracted by maceration using 500 ml of ethanol-water (80:20). Antioxidant activity was estimated by 2,2-diphenyl-1 picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) assays. In addition, Folin-Ciocalteu method was used to determine the total phenolic content. IC50 value of DPPH scavenging activity was 300 μg/mL. Total phenolic content was 25.3 mg as gallic acid equivalent/g extract. It seems that the phenolic constituents of the seeds are probably responsible for some part of antioxidant activity, while some unsaturated fatty acids (including linoleic and oleic acid) may be responsible for the other part, based on the review of the literature. Due to the limited studies about “Balangu” seed, more scientific surveys may be helpful for clarifying other biological properties of this traditionally important medicinal plant.

    Introduction
Diabetic foot ulcer is among serious problems for diabetic patients and its treatment is very complicated and requires great care. Inappropriate responses to various medical and surgical treatments have made this complication problematic.
    Case Presentation
The patient was a 58-year-old man with diabetes for more than twenty five years and hospitalized with complaint of diabetic foot ulcers, uncontrolled blood sugar, and sepsis at Shohadaye Gonbad Kavus hospital in June 2015. The patient's foot ulcer did not respond to conventional treatments, and amputation order was made by his treating orthopedist. The patient referred to traditional medicine clinic for counselling. The patient had two wounds on the right foot in Zone 1 (Right 11 X and 1 XR) with a diameter of approximately 5 cm by 6 cm and Zone (Right 9 Y and 6, 7, 10 X) with a diameter of approximately 12 cm by 5 cm which was equivalent to STAGE D/GRADE III according to clinical examination by traditional medicine physician based on the standards of Texas University Diabetic Wound Classification System, and equivalent to GRADE 4 based on the standards of Wagner Comprehensive System for Wound Diabetic Foot. The patient's health and nutrition was under control. Pharmaceutical measures in this patient were including the herbal medicines (including both uni- and multi-component medicines), and conventional antihyperglycemic drugs. The manual actions were including full back cupping every night until the end of therapy, massage therapy, and leech therapy inside and around the wound with 10 to 12 fine, medium and big leeches in 16 sessions every 2 to 4 days. The diabetic foot ulcer healed completely, the patient's physical and mental states improved, and his blood sugar was controlled after 60 days of treatment
    Conclusion
It seems that combining the modern and traditional medicine can treat most of the common diseases especially diabetic foot ulcer and it is essential to perform a wide range of assessments and studies in different diseases based on the Iranian effective medicine.

Health is an essential issue in our lives.According toTraditional Persian Medicine (TPM), having healthysexual relationship is an important aspect in preventivemedicine. This study was performed by searching through Canon of Medicine by Avicenna, Zakhireh Kharazmshahi andKamel al-Sanaeh inTPMaswell as themedical literature. Sexual function and its role in a healthy life style were considered. We looked for sexual life and its relationship with eating, types ofdrinking, bathing, sleeping habits and times and periods of a daymentioned in those references. InTPM, sexual life and intercourse are not only for pleasure. They are also important aspects of a healthy life style recommended to be performed with a certain frequency, in certain times, with a prologue and foreplay, and considering some limitations in drinking and eating. This study shows the essential role of a healthy sexual life according toTPMrecommendations.Regarding the effects of a healthy sexual style in generalwellbeing, it seems necessary to educate the public about related important issues in health clinics and primary care system.
