The linking between history and philosophy, in the modern age, has been appeared in it’s the most way in Hegel’s philosophical system. He has participated from previous thinkers’ thought so that most part of his thought has indebted to philosophers before him. He has succeeded to picture the starting and ending point of history by using of the word Guist as the mover faculty of history through applying theories of some philosophers like Plato and Aristotle, and combination them with modern and intellectual thinkers, so that has achieved to introduce a efficacy and dynamic philosophy of history. History, for Hegel, is a system that has its internal logic, has its proper lawfulness, and travels in hierarchical levels in order to get to its goal which is nothing save freedom in all its awareness. Evolutionary process of history, in Hegel’s thought, is to reach freedom in political and social life, and shaping civil society that has been build based on awareness and consciousness needing. This evolutionary process goes to getting global place and most nations have effective contributions in that, and it helps to global process of history, but every nation has a unique opportunity to playing role in it. This paper, tries to analyze Hegel’s philosophical explanation of history, in order to clarify the backgrounds of unity between history and philosophy.

Religiousexperience is one of the most important issue in the contemporary philosophy of religion. The question which has occupied the philosophers’ attention is that whether the subject of experience is justified in their belief about the object of experience or not? Richard Swinburne believes that the principle of credulity can prove the authenticity of religious experience for its subject and the principle of testimony can prove it’s authenticity for others. The writer of this paper has distinguished two realms of rationality: philosophical and common sense. In the realm of philosophical rationality. Swinburne’s claims are untenable but in the realm of common sense it is acceptable.

The process of revelation is of issues that has involved many Muslim and western thinkers and philosophers’ minds, and they have concerned to understand its essence and reality. Muslim philosophers, from Farabi up to now, have tried to explain the nature of revelation, so that each one has struggled to introduce a suitable and rational explanation based their philosophical principles. Ibn Sina is one of Muslim philosophers that has paid more attention to revelation, and tried to analyze its nature and essence. He fulfilling this, uses some important elements like heavenly souls, Active Intellect, Perceptional Faculties of the Soul, Imaginary Faculty and Estimation Faculty which each of them has the role of some instruments for Ibn Sina’s explanation of revelation. In this paper, Ibn Sina’s point of view is described and discussed some critics concerning his explanation of revelation.

This paper is aiming to show that albeit Ibn Sina as Peripatetic philosopher, was ascribed to Aristotle, has used some new principles like Active Intellect, Intuitive and Sacred Intellect in his rational theological system that his philosophy has been separated from Aristotelian thought. From one hand, Jonathan Edwards, as the Father of New England Theology, meanwhile more emphasizing on faithfulness process of the heart and direct opposition to extreme Deistic rationalism, has never reject the role of intellect in the process of faith, but he beliefs that rational faith has some obstacles that is removed by divine grace. In this approach neither Ibn Sina can be considered as mere rationalist in the process of faith, nor Edwards as mere fideism due to his obligation to heart. Meantime, for Ibn Sina, intellect provides the process of faith and faith also travels in rational way, while Edwards, firstly, believes that faith is related to heart, since faith concerns with practical obligation, although intellect due to its utilizing of revelation, participate of faith.

Shahabuddin Yahya Suhravardi (1153-1191) is the first Muslim and Iranian philosopher who established his philosophical system based on Light, and calls it as Wisdom of Illumination (Hikmat Al- Ishraq). Light, in Suhravardi’s philosophy, has two ontological and epistemological roles. From ontological aspect, Suhravardi divides the whole system of being into two Light and Darkness or Shadow, and believes that Light and Shadow are as two constitutional elements of the world. He emphasizes that Light is a self-evident and indefinable reality which shadow is derived from its lack. Suhravardi divides Light and Shadow into two groups of Substance and Accident, and says there are two kinds of lights including abstract and accidental lights. Abstract lights are independent in their existence, like God, and Accidental Lights are not independent, like Ideas and Angles. Darkling existents have two kinds including Darkling Substances that have no need to place and Darkling accidents are depended on other beings and places. The very important point of Suhravardi’s division of Light and Shadow, is considering of gradual and hierarchical relations and participation of all existents by the reality of Light, that is, as much as every being is more abstract, it can participate more Light and has more independency, which God as Light of Lights is placed in the top of this gradual chain. Suhravardi, from epistemological approach, makes a real relation between Light and Illuminationst knowledge. He, first, argues that Light is very self-consciousness and Intuitive Knowledge, and then by paying attention to hierarchical levels of existents, explains their epistemic relations by using of illumination and intuition. He says the knowledge of existents to Supernal Lights is acquired by intuition and observation, while the knowledge of Supernal Lights to Lower ones is achieved by Illumination. Here, Illumination is very radiating and lightening of lower lights by supernal lights. So, Light is both the ontological and epistemological cause of things, namely, all things are originated and recognized by Lights, specially, Light of Lights who is God.

There are a few thinkers and research fields in humanities that do research without paying attention to method or having methodological approach. Methodology, basically in contemporary age has been considered as separate and independent research field that has attracted attention of thinkers in humanities, both is Islamic and western world. In this paper, it is aiming, by considering the method of philosophizing two famous western and Muslim philosophers, Martin Heidegger and Mulla Sadra, to study their methodological foundations in their philosophies. Since the thought and special method of philosophizing of these two philosophers has its more significance for researchers in humanities. Heidegger by his hermeneutical phenomenology, establishes his philosophical system and for getting an understanding of Being starts from Desein. Mulla Sadra, also, tries to understand the reality of Being, but by applying synthetic method in which participate of both argumentative rationality and revealed and mystical thought.

Discussing on religious experience as the substance of religion, and retricting the religion to private feelings, is as the result of unability of the western philosophy for justifying religious teachings, in order to defend authenticity and independence of religion which is one of contemporary important issues in philosophy of religion. One of critics to such theories is that trusting on religious experience and restricting religion to private affaires has some crucial problems for justifying social laws, since understanding of social laws of religion as backgrounds for taking its legitimacy and acceptability can’t be possible. In fact, beliving in credibility of religious experience is caused to omit some significant aspects ofreligion from our social life, and also the social and just missions the divine Prophets, as messengers of God, and can’t be justified. In this paper, by considering Schleiermacher theory as the beginner of religious experience theory, it is tried to criticize its practical and social applications and involvements.

The human being as subject has many changes in the history of thought. The rationality of classic era was developed in such a way, specially in ancient Greece, while subject had original role. Again subject achieved to transcendental position in the modern times. Although the subject received very excellent character in the modern times, but some believe that autonomous rationality of this current times has more older roots in older times like ancient Greece reflections. This statement reinforces that modernity is reinterpretation of tradition rather than conflict with it. Therefore we can consider this important event as return to the some of foundations but in critical reading could naturally obtaining of some sectors and of course exclusion of the others. Modernity has confronted in its path with different challenges in realization of its ideals and intentions whom some of them was concerned to subject insofar as some thinkers obviously declared death of subject. Jurgen Habermas in contemporary times as the important representative of critical theory tries and claims to revive the subject in intersubjectivity by the use of unfinished capacities of modernity. This is achieved through language and communicative action.
