According to virtue epistemology, the spiritual transcendence of subject (or agent of knowledge) is one of the effective elements in knowledge acquiring. MullaSadra’s epistemic theory, known as the unity of the rational and the reasonable, has certain similarities with virtue epistemology, because for him, the relation between the subject and the belief or knowledge is transcendental and existential. According to him, in the first step, the relation between the subject and the belief or knowledge is causal. The characteristics of causal relations is that the cause transmits it’s properties to the effect; i.e. the virtues of the subject transmits to the belief and the epistemic property of the belief transmits to the subject and elevates his existential intensity. In the next step of the process of knowledge, the relation between the belief and the subject is unitary compositionof the matter with the form. To add rational belief to the subject results in his spiritual transcendence and this results in supplying the context of producing beliefs which their truth probability is high.

Some of what occurred in the world is not in harmony with human feelings and comprehension. In the first place, proofs and believe in the existence of an omnipotent, righteous and all-good God is undeniable. This problem is divided to some sections: contradiction between evil and monotheism, divine wisdom, divine justice and the best possible world, which are considered in this study as contradictory between evils and omnificent God, evils and divine wisdom, evils and divine justice, and evils and the best possible world. In each section, each problem will be met based on Transcendental Wisdom of Mulla Sadra. As we see, in his point of view, evils are of a kind of absence, which is not real and objective being, and when evilness ascribed to a thing this is because of comparison of that thing to others, or because of the effect of absence of that thing on nonbeing of a desired essence or imperfectness of that essence. Thus, evil is relative and is not direct effect of God's will. For Mulla Sadra, evil only pertaining to material world, therefore, can not be a disproof of the existence of the best possible world and perfection of God. Because evil implicit in this world. Otherwise, world of matter is not the very same and this order of things cannot be formed. From Transcendental Wisdom point of view, the only real thing is existence, and existence always is good; so evil can be retraced to good and therefore to the very essence of beings.

To search meaning and truth is an essential aspect of human beings, and it cannot be avoided. Human will be understand that s/he should live with certain aim and that absence of such an aim result in alienation with being, which is the source of meaning, so it causes gap between life and meaning. Meaninglessness of life, of course, is accompanied by feeling nothingness and nihility, which is known as the problem of modern human, and it is follow lack of true knowledge about very human being and absence of a proper philosophy for life. Therefore, discussing the role of philosophy in life is a long standing topic all along. Indeed, meaning of life is an objective, real and original question that can be understood through human conditions. Thus, to have an outline, or rather, a philosophy of and for life, is vital; so it is needed for human to relate himself to existence, philosophically and rationally, plus applying this to his life, that is a kind of philosophical life. In this study, concerning the role of philosophy of life, human being will be considered as the sole existent that comprehend the meaning of life; because, as much as human conditions have been comprehended, the meaning of life will be more brightness. In addition, since for Transcendental Philosophy, existence is real and the only source for explaining of everything, including human being, the relation of philosophy to human life will be consider from a Sadrian philosophical point of view.

Since the time of Plato, subject of mortality or immortality of the soul has been debated by philosophers. Plato, in the book of Fideon, pointed to immortality of the soul but Farabi for the first time in Islamic philosophy pointed to the issue of survival of the soul after the body is dead, then Ibn Sina and others argued to survival of the soul after annihilation of the body. Generally, from foundations and reasons of Ibn Sina, Suhrawardi, Tosi and Mulla Sadra, it could be obtained eight philosophical and rational foundations for immortality of the soul. In this paper, I asserted all these foundations reasonabily and with logical order to prove immortality of the soul and these foundations are straight realationship to prove the aferworld. In opposite of reasons of Islamic philosophers in immortality of the soul, some western philosophers like Hume, Russlle and Antony Flow, gave reasons to mortality of the soul which here all of them are quoted and criticized.

Self-sufficient reason, which is the basis of Enlightenment, was mathematical and pragmatic. Therefore, it was on behalf of bodily interests, not divine and spiritual ones. It was in order to avoid the mythological aspects that dominate over human beings. This pragmatic and quantitative reasoning, which is begin with dualistic philosophy of Descartes, firstly, and finally in Kant's philosophy reached a peak, see the human reasoning as an organized structure which is capable of attaining the logical objects. But toward the end of Enlightenment, both subject and object trapped by instrumentalism and quantitative looking, to the extent that subject which must apply its attitudes and acted based on this, became an object of main (liberal-capitalist) discourse, even loose its freedom. In fact, Critics of Modernism, particularly members of Frankfurt School, often criticizes the practical reasoning of Enlightenment from this point of view. In this study, human captivity, which is a result of this certain kind of reasoning, is considered based on thought of two of these critics, i.e Horkheimer and adorno.

Muslims recieved Greek philosophers's thoughts after translation movement and constituted a philosophy known as Islamic philosophy by contemplating their philosophical heritage. The most important fundamental difference between Greek philosophy and Islamic philosophy that result in two independent philosophies, is another understanding of existence and different ontology. In this article, it is compared two salient philosopher views, Aristotle and Ibn Sina, about God and his attributes to understand these two different kinds of ontology. In Aristotle philosophy, God is unmoved mover and ultimate goal of the universe and his prominent feature is thought of thought. So God is not creator of anything and he does not have existential relation with anything. Ibn Sina following al-Farabi, introduced God as necessary being and pure existence who is in apex of causes and others are contingent and dependent on him by distinguishing existence and essence and also necessity and contingency so that posed another understanding of existence. Although here it is confirmed that Ibn Sina has got his thought material from Aristotle insofar as there is no Ibn Sina in absence of Aristotle, Ibn Sina philosophy, according to his different ontology, has fundamental difference with Aristotle philosophy.

In present paper, the attitudes of western and especially Islamic philosophers concerning Aristotle theology will briefly taken into consideration. In Islamic philosophy, like what happened in western thought. There are several interpretations of Aristotle theology: A) Aristotle and Plato are the only Greek philosophers who addressed theological discussions for the first time. they believed in Divinity without acquiring such believe from somewhere else; (b) Although Plato, Aristotle and Socrates have addressed theological discussions, their religious insight is owed to the Prophets and religious-illuminative thoughts of eastern philosophers; (c) this supposition that Aristotle was a theological philosopher, mainly has been emanated from Kendy, Farabi and Ibn Sina’s misunderstanding that with ascribing EnneadsofPlotinus to Aristotle has considered him as a theological philosopher, while in Aristotle’s intellectual system, one can find no status for Divinity. By taking the opinions of second and third group into consideration, the author is going to defend from Aristotle’s theological thoughts and claims that despite of differences in Aristotle’s verdicts in this regard and apparent contradiction in his words, Aristotle’s Theological attitude can be considered as a novel, progressive, rational and creative approach which cannot be found its trace before him.

Conceptual analysis of “Doubt”, which is considered as the contrast of the certitude, is essential in the philosophical system of two thinkers of East and West: Abū Hāmid Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Ghazālī and René Descartes. First of all, this article tries to determine the limitation of the realm of doubt, then studies the typology of doubt in these two thinkers’ views, and their attitude toward doubt, and finally, it will be discussed how they have confronted with the problem of doubt.
This article also tries to demonstrate that: 1. Since al-Ghazali’s doubt is expanded from a philosophical doubt to religious doubt, the realm of al-Ghazali’s doubt is wider than Descartes’. 2. Al-Ghazali commences with this philosophical doubt but he shifts his way to the psychological doubt, but Descartes stays in a philosophical and theoretical doubt.

The Whitehead's Metaphysical System is based on the unity and harmony of affairs and changing events that in the autonomous eternal universe and in mutual communication with the eternal affairs, represents a process thought and scientific one at the same time. Whitehead believes the scientific and religious explanations of the metaphysical root of the order and harmony of worldly affairs are insufficient, but the sufficient reason for justification of them is God. He is a changeable being, he and regularizes all changes of this world. Nevertheless, He is not the creator of the world and omniscient and omnipotent.
In this article we try to scrutinize the metaphysical foundations of science and religion in Whitehead's process philosophy, and to show that Whitehead's Sufficient reason for the explanation of the changeable world is insufficient and even unnecessary, because God is He who is neither omniscient nor omnipotent, and is unstable who can not be sufficient reason for the existence of the world.
