Several methods are using to collect insects from the environments, they are living in. The sweeping net is one of the commonly used equipment for collecting however the process of picking up the collected insects from net bag is laborious and time consuming job. In the present work we introduced a hand-held battery powered electric aspirator, which made based on a centrifugal fan which adapted into an especial storage bottle (replaceable). Field trials confirmed the efficiency of the new device in collecting insects from different orders, of which Diptera and Hymenoptera were dominant. Additional customization was made on the type of collecting bottle to enhance the applicability of the new device for different purposes. Finally, studies showed that the hand-held electric aspirator can be used successfully for faunistic and ecological studies.

We present a list of 25 Chrysididae species mainly captured at high altitudeson mountains of the Kerman province, Iran. Thenumerous records evidences the rich biodiversity present at high altitudes in Iranian mountainsup to an elevation of about 3000 m.The largest richness was observed in the 2100-2300m range. Elampus kashmirensis Nurse, 1902, Holopyga chrysonota appliata Linsenmaier, 1959, Chrysis quadrispina Buysson, 1887 and Chrysis sacrata Buysson, 1898 are new records for Iranian fauna.

Five species of gall midges (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) were found during investigations in the Kerman province in the years 2010-2016. Two of these, Xerephedromyia bipartita Mamaev, 1972 and Xerephedromyia mitroshinae Fedotova, 1992, causing galls on Ephedra major (Ephedraceae), were recorded for the first time from Iran. Both species are very rare and have not been found since the time of their original description. Rhopalomyia efremovi (Fedotova, 1999), Rhopalomyia hispanica Tavares, 1904 and Rhopalomyia navasi Tavares, 1904, causing galls on various species of Artemisia (Asteraceae), already known to occur in north-eastern and central Iran, were recorded for the first time in the Kerman provin

In order to determine Braconidae fauna of Cyprus, adult specimens of Braconidae were collected from different habitats of Northern Cyprus between 2012 and 2016. All specimens were collected in both natural vegetation and agricultural areas using sweeping-net. A total of 42 species belonging to 14 genera of Agathidiae, Braconinae, Cheloninae, Doryctinae, Euphorinae, Homolobinae, Opiinae and Rogadinae were reported from the Northern Cyprus, of which 26 species are recorded from Cyprus for the first time.

The Iranian fauna of Eudorylini (Diptera, Pipunculidae) is reviewed. The new material were collected in Western (Kermanshah) and Eastern (North Khorasan, Khorasan-e Razavi, South Khorasan, Sistan-o Baluchestan) provinces during 2015–2016. In total, twenty species of Eudorylini belonging to four genera known from Iran are listed. Four species, Claraeola conjuncta (Collin, 1949), Clistoabdominalis nitidifrons (Becker, 1900), Dasydorylas discoidalis (Becker, 1897) and Eudorylas jenkinsoni Coe, 1966 are newly recorded from Iran. A brief diagnosis is presented for the newly recorded species.

Bucculatrix albella Stainton is newly reported for the fauna of Iran. The species is collected in Khorasan-e Jonubi and Zanjan Provinces as larvae and cocoon, and adult, respectively. In the former Province it was found on red date, Ziziphus jujuba Miller (Rosales: Rhamnaceae) in some orchards of Birjand during 2015-2016. This species may be considered as a severe pest of jujube in Iran in the future.

The grass-living thripid species, Bregmatothrips willcocksi (Priesner) is recorded for the first time from Iran on the basis of materials of both sexes collected on Johnson grass, Sorghum halepense (family Poaceae). This is the second member of the genus Bregmatothrips from Iran and in contrast to most species in the genus has forked sense cones on antennal segments III and IV. An Illustrated key is provided for distinguishing B. willcocksi and B. bournieri Pelikan.
