Investigate of copy script travel account Mirza Mahmood Shirazi to Mumbai from historical anthropology view

Abstract:
Mirza Mahmood Shirazi,a merchant from Shiraz, set out for Mumbai in 1309 A.H. His aim was a visit and trade. He started his travel from Shiraz and passed the uneven and meandrous road of Shiraz-Kazeroon, including the steep hills of Peerzan and Doxtar.The path from Kazeroon to Bushehr was among the famous roads of the time which was of a great importance because of its strategic situation for Britain. After a short stay in Bushehr, he set out for Mumbai by sea. He passed Bandar Lengeh, Bandar Abbas, and Jask.then he arrived at Karachi and afterward arrived at Mumbai. He stayed there for two months and visited different sites of that city, including natural landscapes like parks, cultural and historical places such as theaters, circus, Museums, painting exhibits, Mosques and churches. He took notes of all of his observations in very simple style. Besides the above mentioned places, one can points to his watching of Hindus ceremonies and quarrels between religious sects is interesting.Mirza Manhood's travel account is so useful from a historical anthropology. He describes his observations objectively and this objectivity makes his work so significant from an anthropological perspective. This Article aims at investigating into and analyzing his travel account from historical and cultural anthropology views. The only unique copy of this travel account is available in Majles library Archive.
