Evaluation of Knowledge Management in Higher Education Institutions (Case Study: Management School in Tehran, Tarbiat Modarres, and Yazd University)

Nowadays, academic institutions and universities are in need of an integrative discipline for studying, researching and learning about the knowledge assets. Successful educational institutions are those that constantly create new knowledge and disseminate it widely through their systems. Today’s academic environment is facing many demands and changes. Hence, applying a method for creating knowledge and its implementation is essential in order to fulfill the educational objectives and get maximum benefits. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is examining and evaluating knowledge management in academic institutions. The nature of the research is descriptive and also it is an applied survey as far as objective is concerned. In this paper, status of knowledge management in three faculties of Management will be evaluated. Populations of this research are faculty members from faculty of management in Yazd, Tarbiat Modarres and Tehran universities. Data analysis is performed using SPSS and Excel software. T-test results showed that the condition of knowledge management in Tehran, Tarbiat Modarres and Yazd University is undesirable and the condition of some of their components is desirable.
