The Structure of Romantic-Epic Stories

Romantic epic fiction is a literary genre consisting of a mixture of romance and epic. In this paper, we study the structure and characteristics of these fictions in one of the greatest epics of Iran and the world, i.e. Shahnameh, and scrutinize it from the point of view of narrator, weight, independence or dependence, purposefulness, culminating in marriage, kind of expressed love, events and states of love, advice and counseling. In conclusion, we present the distinguishing qualities of romantic poetry and discuss their similarities and differences.
