Different Aspects and Stages of Sexual Education of Girls and Women According to Islamic view

Abstract:
The present article, a documentary-analytical research, defines the sexual instinct and sexual education first; then, it deals with sexual education of women as an effective section of the society. Sexual education is a continuous process in one’s whole life. Thus, we have tried to explain the issues concerning women’s sexual affairs in four primary periods and some other secondary periods based on Islamic-Shiite sources. These periods are as follows: a) the period before puberty (from the birth up to 9-12 years old); b) the puberty period from 12 years old up to pre-marriage period; c) the marital period (marriage, pregnancy, wifehood, and motherhood); and finally d) period of menopause and oldness. Besides, the impairments common in each period are also mentioned here. Furthermore, the status of sexual instinct in three categories of ‘excess’, ‘negligence’ and ‘moderation’ in Islamic and western cultures have been synoptically compared.
