Comparing perceived stress level and social support scores in hyper tension inpatients and normal persons

Abstract:
The present research is aimed to compare perceived stress level and social support scores in hyper tension inpatients with and without drugs and normal persons. Out of 163 patients, 56 hypertension patients (29 female &27 male) with drugs history, 51 hypertension patients (26 female &30 male) without drugs history, and 56 healthy persons (26 female, 30 male) from patients, visitors were chosen by accessing sampling method in a general hospital. After measuring blood pressure, the relevant questionnaires were completed by all subjects. Findings have shown that both two hypertension groups have more job stress and perceived stress significantly than other group and patient's negative stress is high. Also data analysis indicated that social support in patients groups is less than normal group significantly based on boss's social support. Total social support score in hypertension group without drug was more than hypertension group with drug. No differences revealed in other variables. Based on the research results we can conclude that hypertension persons have more stress and less social support in comparing to normal persons.
