Abstract:
One of the very important issues in the present Iranian society, is people’s diversity of tacts and tastes in different consumption areas; and this caused many sociologists to base their analysis of today’s complex communities on the consumption issue. Thus, the main foundation of the research is to study the consumption diversity on indexes such as film, music, and book. In line with this issue, the present research is to study whether the amount of social capital has a meaningful influence on the consumption type in areas such as film, music, and book or not. For this purpose, the survey method was used, and also the study community was the Esfahan University students; 374 were chosen using the staged sampling method through the Chochran test. In this research, proper statistical tests were used to study the relationship between social capital and cultural consumption. The findings resulted in accepting the zero hypotheses and refusing the contrary one. That is, the results showed that there is no meaningful relationship between the amount of social capital and the cultural consumption type.
