The Relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Job Satisfaction with Organizational Commitment among Secondary School Teachers in Yazd City

The purpose of this research was to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and Job Satisfaction with organizational commitment among teachers who work in secondary schools of Yazd city in Iran. Research methodology was descriptive - survey-correlation. The number of the secondary teachers in Yazd city was 772. The sample included 260 teachers that were selected by classified proportionate sampling method using Morgan, s table sample size. Emotional intelligence, job satisfaction and commitment questionnaires were used as research instruments. Reliability of the questionnaires was computed by cronbach alpha coefficient which was 0.83, 0.79 and 0.73 for emotional intelligence, organizational commitment and job satisfaction respectively. Correlation coefficient test, regression analysis, ANOVA and T test were used for data analysis. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between job satisfactions of secondary school teachers and the organizational commitment. Furthermore, Job Satisfaction can forecast organizational commitment. Also there was a significant relationship between emotional intelligence, organizational commitment and job satisfaction among male and female teachers.
