Abstract:
In order to carry out a comparative study of the morphological status of the hepatic artery and the portal vein of liver of cattle, sheep and goat, 12 livers were collected from healthy adult male and female animals (4 livers of each) from Esfahan abattoir. Livers were washed and cleaned from additional tissues, lymphatic nodes and fats. Latex and colored resin polyacrylic polyvinyl were injected through the hepatic artery and the portal veins. The vessel casts compared and photography of them was carried out. The results revealed that the portal vein divided into two short right and long left branches in all these animals. In sheep and goat, the right branch divided to seven and in cattle to four or five secondary branches. The left branch in cow and goat, divided into two transverse and umbilical branches. The hepatic artery divided into two right and left branches in all animals. In cattle, the right branch divided into seven or eight and in sheep and goat, into four or five branches. The left branch of hepatic artery in cattle divided into seven and in sheep and goat, into four or five branches.
