The Signs and Functions of Dynamic Defense Diplomacy

Defense diplomacy, is a new concept in the strategic literature. Although such a concept has never been applied in traditional strategic and military literature, the mechanisms needed for applying power through diplomacy was always existed. Now, issues like power, defense, security, deterrence and regionalism are notions that have a close relation with defense diplomacy. The need for security in high security risk countries requires a variety of mechanisms for eliminating the threats. It should be noted that the mutual threat approach is important because it could provide the necessary context for cognitive deterrence. Defense diplomacy has the potential to segregate the boundaries between defense, deterrence and aggressive pattern.
