Analysing and Ranking Development Levels of Rural Regions in the Townships of Ilam Province

The rural regions of Ilam Province have problems and difficulties including households’ income shortages، highness of illiteracy ratio، migration from villages، highness of unemployment ratio، highness of households dimension and so on which have made obstacles in the way of rural development in this province. Determining and analysing these problems and offering suitable solutions to resolve or weaken these problems have some effects like: flourishing agriculture sector، using rural potentialities optimally، fixing population in rural regions and finally the rural development of the province. The present paper aims at ranking and determining the development levels of rural regions in Ilam Province in respect of development indexes and in order to analyse the status of these regions. Using a combination of descriptive، documental and developmental research methods and investigating 38 variables in the framework of 4 indexes (economical، cultural-educational، infrastructural and health-hygienic) employing Mouris model، it is attempted to investigate the condition of Ilam Province’s townships and to rank the townships in respect of development levels. Also، making use of coefficient of variance، dispersion scale of indexes in these townships is determined in the framework of studied indexes. Ultimately، using Arc-Gis، the results of townships’ ranking are presented in the form of maps with respect to development indexes. Findings show unsuitable conditions of Ilam’s townships with respect to studied indexes، in such a way that these townships with development coefficient between 39/35- 63/21 are among semi-enjoyed townships، and just townships of Shirvanchardavol with 75/69 and Ilam with 75/58 coefficient in respect of cultural-educational indexes; townships of Darreshahr with 68/16 and Eyvanwith 64/33 coefficient in respect of infrastructural indexes and also Ilam township with 91/40 coefficient in respect of health-hygienic indexes are in enjoyed status. Also، the dispersion scale of indexes in townships of Ilam province with making use of coefficient of variance in respect of economical indexes 0/19، health-hygienic indexes 0/29، and cultural-educational and infrastructural indexes 0/34 gas been computed. Ultimately، some recommendations are offered for solving the problems of the Province’s rural regions.
