A Study of Water Constructions in Birjand A Field study: Glaciers

Glaciers are very important water constructions both architecturally and applicationally. Whenever possible, the rich, the governors, or other people tried to make one in a place. Despite the water-stocks and other sources of water which were free to people of the region, the glaciers were considered a source of income for its builder(s). Birjand. In Birjand, as a city next to desert, and having a dry climate, water constructions were always of great importance. One of these constructions in this city, the old glacier, is an architectural masterpiece. The importance of glaciers, in general, and glaciers in Birjand, in particular, are considered in this paper.
