The Iranian-Islamic identity and sustainable security for Islamic Republic

The main question and concern of the article is to examine of the relationship between the collective identities in Iran and specifically national (or Persia) identity and religious (or Islamic) identity on the one hand، identity of sustainable security on the other other hand. The main hypothesis is that basicfactor for realization of sustainable security is based on relationship among various and existing identities in Iranian society. Therefore، this paper reviews relationship of sustainable security and identity theoretically، and then reviews concept of Iranian and Islamic identity. To examine the existing situation، this article claims relationship between Iranian and Islamic identity was and is synthetic and companionship and lack of harassment. In order to realize sustainable security، the country’s national security strategy should be directed to strengthen the approach of unity in diversity، and mix of kindsof collective identities including national، Islamic and ethnic identities (and even modern identity). In order to realize of situation of sustainable security، it is necessary to seek to strengthen cross-cultural relations and inter-cultural Sensitivities among protectors and advocators towards kinds of the existingsub-identities in the Iranian society. Obviously، application of sustainable security depends on linkage and interaction between various cultural and social identities and therefore it is necessary to increase the technical capacities and communication skills in order to increase inter-cultural interactions.
