PJAK terrorist activities and the security of Islamic Republic of Iran

Abstract:
PJAK is one of the active terrorist groups in the Kurdish areas that in recent years have caused insecurity at the northwest areas of Iran by penetrating among citizens and carry terrorist operations out. In this study the authors will address threats of PJAK terrorist group toward Iran’s security with use of descriptive-analysis method. In other words, this study seeks answer the question: “How PJAK threaten security of Iran’s northwest area?”. The purpose of this study is to introduce aspects and active threats of PJAK, following the escalation of its terrorist activities and its impact on the security of Iran’s northwest. The research findings show that this group under the influence of inside political and intellectual streams, has affected security of the northwest area and rely upon terrorist activities such as killing civilians and forces of law and order(law enforcement forces), communication with opposed states to Islamic Republic of Iran and support of their policies, propaganda activities against the regime (political system) and publication of Unreal issues among citizens, goods and human smuggling and blackmailing.
