Conceptualization of economic security

Abstract:
Economic security is a new and major face of security in the contemporary world which has attracted attention of security theorists towards itself at all of individual, social and national levels. Although this aspect of security always had been considered in the history of human economic life, but it has acquired new dimensions and features in the context of globalization which has promoted its importance to first rank among other aspects. Despite topics related with economic security is studiedfrom various aspects via thinkers in the fields of economics, economic sociology and international relations, yet its status isn’t known in economic literature of our country. The central question of article is “nature of economic security, indicators and consequences of its absence”, and while I address to historical background of issue, concepts, economic security indicators and approaches and impacts ofeconomic insecurity. The article’s final part examines capacity of Constitution of Islamic Republic of Iran for promoting economic security and its various indicators in the document have been identified and categorized.
