Abstract:
This article attempts to answer this question: “what is the relationship between Afghan Taliban group and Inter-Services Intelligence (I.S.I)?”. The article hypothesis is that there is a close relationship between Taliban and I.S.I. Inter-Services Intelligence controls stabilize and extremely affects Taliban movement. In other words, I.S.I supports Taliban in very important fields such as training, fundingand financial assistance, weapons, ammunition and necessary equipment. I.S.I has several reasons to support Taliban, but it seems Islamabad - with loss of East Pakistan (present Bangladesh) -, take steps to deal with an increasing threat of India, Kashmir’s joining or to compel India to acceptance the joining important part of Kashmir to Pakistan and Pashtun nationalism (Especially with regard to thehistorical claim of Afghans to the Durand line). A part of this response to counter these threats includes more islamization of society and consequently, increasing schools, widespread support of the radical forces and armed groups in Kashmir and Afghanistan which was called the so-called “Sub-conventional Warfare strategy”. This strategy occurs under the support of I.S.I.
