The Effects of Satellite Programs on Youth Attitudes toward Illegal Sexual Relationships

The present paper investigates the difference between the attitudes of users and non-users of satellite programs of Yazd citizens, aged 15-35, toward illegal sexual relationships. the research utilized a survey methodology. Data gathered from 384 subjects (female=201, male=183) who were chosen through cluster sampling and via a self-mode questionnaire related to illegal sexual relationships. The results showed a significant difference between the attitudes of users and non-users of satellite program toward illegal relationships (p<0.01). Subjects who used satellite program were more agree with illegal sexual relationships than the non-users. Due to effects of satellite programs on the attitudes of people toward illegal relationships, it seems indispensable to plan some interventions via implementing interesting television channels.
