Predicting Student's Tendency Toward Suicide Based on Faithfulness, Social Support, Family Environment and Depression

Abstract:
Objectives
The present research aims at investigating the predicting role of faithfulness psychology, social support, family environment and depression with the rate of suicide ideas among university students.
Method
1067 students in lorestan medical sciences university answered the questions on suicide thoughts (SIS), Aryan faithfulness questionnaire (1377), social support questionnaire (1988), Rudolf moose and prince moose family environment questionnaire(1976), beck depression questionnaire. Data analysis is through correlation and regression method.
Results
The results of the survey showed that faithfulness, social support, family environment and depression determined 54% of changes in suicide ideas among university students. Family environment has the most influence on predicting the ideas of suicide.
Conclusion
The author of the article concludes that suicide in different countries is depended on their differences in economy, culture and society. Therefore controlling and preventing the problem needs a comprehensive and multidimensional program.
