Relationship between commitment and electricity saving among women in Yasouj

Consumption of electricity in Iran is beyond international standards. Given that the majority of electricity is consumed in the domestic sector، saving especially by women as home managers is an important approach. The main purpose of the study is to investigate relationship between commitment and electricity saving among married women. The study is a correlational method and 406 married women were selected through random multi-stage cluster sampling method. The data was collected by using a researcher-made questionnaire that its validity and reliability was measured through Kudar-Richardson coefficient. Also the research''s data were analyzed through structural equation model Findings showed there is a significant positive relationship between two variables and commitment are able to explain 30 percent variance of electricity saving. With promotion of the commitment، electricity saving is increased and consequently excessive electricity consumption is mitigated in Iran.
