Trust Building as a Prerequisite to a Collective Security System in Persian Gulf

Message:
Abstract:
Persian Gulf is one of the most important and sensitive region concerning the strategic and geopolitical importance. In the absence of confidence and trust building there would be lesser cooperative motivation and regional transactions among the nations of this region. That is why regional countries resort to big powers in order to gain and secure their national interests. It seems most of foreign interferences in the region is due to the lack of trust among these nations that attracted supper powers to this region. This paper used descriptive analytical approach. The most basic of requisite of security to a collective security system is unity among members of a region. What kind of safe and secure system should we build in order to have a secure and conflict free region in Persian Gulf? The main hypothesis of this article is to see if the system of unity, coordination, coherence and interaction among Persian Gulf countries would lead to a peaceful region without being dependent on superpowers for assuring security and peaceful transition to economic and political development.
