Predicting the Social Responsibility Based on Identity Styles of Shiraz University Students

Abstract:
Objectives
This article is an analytical discussion which puts forward a view point on the social responsibility of university students based on identity styles.
Method
Through random sampling 240 students of Shiraz University (103 girls and 137 boys) were selected as sample of the research. Social responsibility questionnaire and identity styles questionnaire are used as a tool to analyze the social responsibility and identity styles. Validity of the questionnaire as research tool was confirmed by cronbach, s alpha and the reliability by factor analyzes method.
Results
The results of the research through multivariate regression indicate that normative identity style is a positive and significant predictor of active social responsibility and avoidant fractured and information identity styles are negative and significant predictor of passive responsibility.
Conclusion
The authors of the article conclude different identity styles significantly predict social responsibility and proper identity formation concludes to active individuals in social responsibility.
