Analyzing and comparing the concept network of Persian Subject Headings with Library of Congress Subject Headings, Sears Subject Headings and Library & Information Science Abstracts concept network

Knowledge organization systems are to help effective retrieval. Therefore, information storage and retrieval tools such as Subject Headings must keep abreast with knowledge improvement. This study has compared the concept network of Persian Subject Headings with Library of Congress Subject Headings, Sears Subject Headings and LISA concept network to see to what extent the it is different from other tools and how the concept relations is treated. The findings indicated the number of concept-words related to LIS in low in Persian Subject Headings and the relationships hasn’t enough been considered.
