Analysis of the Narrative concerning the Protection of the Prophet's Life and Comparing It with the Verse of Iblagh [Notification]

Abstract:
There are different traditions in some Sunni sources concerning the protection of the Prophet’s life. These narratives, relying upon this part of the verse of Iblagh [Notification]: "Wa Allah Yusimuka min al-Nas", irrespective of the causes for revelation and its relationship with other parts, seek to narrate the stories which are apparently concerned with the protection of the Prophet’s life before the revelation of the verse, After God's direct guarantee of the protection of the Prophet’s life, there were no needs to the guards and the Prophet let them go. While investigating these narratives, we face with important facts regarding the innocence of the Commander of the Faithfull, Imam Ali, peace be upon him. The author of the present paper first explains some passages of the verse of Iblagh [Notification] and the commonalities between Fariqayn (Shi`a and Sunni), then he classifies the narratives into four groups and based on historical sources verifies their inadequacy in comparison with the verse of Iblagh [Notification].
