Historical Background of Velayat-e-Faghih Since Early Islam Age Up To The Recent Eva

The present article, while reviewing the historical background of the prophet (PBUH) and Imams’ succession issue, explains the tenets of Velayat-e-Faghih taking into consideration verses of Quran, traditions, saying and bulls (Fitva) of past intellectuals, and the recent Shiite theologians. It is proved that Velayat-e-Faghih is based on “custodian system” originated from the Holy Quran verses, prophet’s and Imams’ traditions. Having a glance at the views of Shiite clergymen, it comes out that a vast majority of Shiite intellectuals stress the issue of Velayat-e-Faghih with full authority of innocent Imam, and many Shiite intellectuals have explicitly referred to the issue. Finally, after presenting the views of Imam Khomeini and the Supreme Leader, the article deals with the brave and revolutionary measure of Iran’s Muslim people in line with materializing the issue of Velayat-e-Faghih through referring to Ashoura uprising of Imam Hossein as an example, and dethronment of Shah’s monarchy. In addition reference is made to the important principles of the Constitution regarding Velayat-e- Faghih based on Islam’s custodian system. At the end, while presenting the results of the discussion the article deals with fatal duty of people and armed forces, especially police forces in supporting and complying with Velayat - e- Faghih guidances, and finally five recommendations are offered to the IRI Police Siyasi Aghidati Organization.
