Role of Border Guarding Canonical Fundamentals in Performing Responsibilities of NAJA Border Guarding Police

Guarding the territorial borders of every country is among the tasks and perhaps the most important responsibilities of the governments. In the Islamic Republic of Iran, combination of military forces and civilian forces are responsible for guarding the borders. However, in line with performing its tasks, and in the framework of border guarding police, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s police force is responsible for providing security on the borders. Therefore, border guarding police of the Islamic Republic of Iran is responsible for supervision over various issues such as installation of signs and informing the public of the relevant information in this regard, looking into border laws and regulations, observing the country laws, and the international laws related to frontiers, etc. Although the duties of the border guarding police are based on the law and administration system of the Islamic Republic of Iran, it originates from the holy Islamic tradition (Sharia), laws and canonical texts. There are various verses in the holy Quran dealing with” Jihad” with infidels, killing them, and guarding borders of Islamic territories. Finally, it should be admitted that the many high ranking Shiite clergymen have issued lots of canonical verdicts regarding defending the idea that canonical principles and fundamentals play an important role in determination of a great range of responsibilities of border guards, the issues related to border guards, and defending the country, as well.
