A Survey on the Relationship Between Body and Soul after Death (Heavenly Reincarnation) in Ibn Arabi's school

The problem of the quality of relationship between body and soul after death is the significant issue in theoretical mysticism. Ibn Arabi and his followers, by using the quantitative ideal degree of human rational soul and steam (animal) spirit which play the role of mediator between body and soul, have elucidated this relation. Approving the Ideal degree of human soul and the explanation of its role in the relationship between rational soul and earthy body is one of Ibn Arabi’s innovations. Ibn Arabi and his commentators, by illustration of specific ontological mystical elements including oneness of being, God’s self disclosure, anthropological issues such as being inseparable of soul and body, appropriation of the body and the world, keeping human identity in the world of hereafter, during discussion on the relationship between body and soul, have tried to explain ideal body which is the effect of human thoughts and actions and make the celestial reincarnation which means inner development and appearance of internal state, intelligible and acceptable. The aim of this research by applying descriptive – analytic method is to explain Ibn Arabi and his commentators’ points of view on the relation between soul and body after death entitled celestial reincarnation.
