A study of translatability of two prepositions " to" and " of" in Quran's translations

Translation as a purposeful activity has been paid attention to human being in order to remove lingual and cultural obstacles and as a field to communicate in different levels for a long time. Translation of Holy Quran is so important not only a training message, but also it contains belief and social thought and jurisprudential commands. Focusing on prepositions is one of effectiveness affairs in Quran right translation. The role of verbal and prescriptive effects of preposition will be discussed in this paper. Also, to limit the range of research, just “to” and “of” has been selected among all prepositions. By referring to commentaries, the Quranic concepts of these prepositions have been taken into consideration, and then, they will be corresponded to translations. Therefore, translations have been selected so that they are comprehensive literarily, perspective, philosophically and narrative. Also, there is a comparison between statistical cases related to “to” and “of” and their main and non-main meaning, and then, the coordination between translations and commentaries will be discussed in accordance with these statistics. The methodology is descriptive-analytic in this paper and it indicates that the more competence in translation to transfer Quranic concepts, the more coordination between translations and commentaries.
