Jihad in Seyed Qutb’s thoughts

Seyed Qutb is one of the leading contemporary Islamist thinkers whose ideas provoked a wave of intense hatred toward western culture. He considers jihad necessary for toppling governments that divine rules have no place in their governing. He considers military Jihad legal and in the meantime, he puts a lot of efforts into establishing a society based on Islamic sharia or law. By joining Muslim Brotherhood and influencing them a lot, he could receive the title “the father of extremist Muslim movements all over the world”. And he  influenced the radical jihadist groups. In this research, we try to analyze Seyed Qutb’s viewpoint regarding the nature of jihad, necessity of jihad, its means and the relationship between jihad and the Islamic system.
