Developing a Scale for Assessing Classroom Climate at Universities (A Case Study of Shiraz University)

Abstract:
Aim of this study was to developing a scale for evaluating classroom climate at the universities. Considering loss of such a scale, after an extensive review of the subject’s literature, a framework consisting of four dimensions (classroom interactions, classroom rules and regulations, learning – assessment, attitude and culture) was identified and a scale compiled in that regard. After two times piloting implementations and supplying validity and reliability of mentioned scale, it was distributed among 201 undergraduate students selected using multi stage cluster sampling. Results on the one hand illustrated the status of the ruling classroom climate at the university and on the other hand the applicability of the presented scale in the subject area (classroom climate evaluation) was identified.
