Sadra Meditations: The possibility of Heideggerian and existential interpretation of Sadra

A comparative look at two philosophers، who dealt with philosophy in two different traditions، is a difficult task and therefore requires contemplation and accuracy especially if they were Mulla Sadra and Heidegger whom metaphysic regarded as a peak in one’s philosophy while the other considers avoiding that sphere. Fortunately، both of these two philosophers put emphasis on existence which makes it somewhat easier to compare them and also gives us the motivation to work in this field. In spite of the fact that there are fundamental differences with respect to their views on issue of existence، we could find some resemblances in their school of thought، that we call them Heidegger potentials of Mulla Sadra. This paper is an attempt to show these similarities within six meditations: first meditation is about denial of conceptual knowledge، the second is denial of the duality of subject and object، third meditation is about existential analysis of the truth and denial of its traditional and correspondence theory conception، the forth one is about the existential analysis of human being، the fifth meditation is about concealment of Being and how to explore it and finally in the last meditation we have showed that the “being-towards-death” in both of the aforementioned philosophers’ thoughts is considered to be one of the fundamental aspects of humans.
