The Effect of Religious Commitment of Mashhad Firdausi University Students on Using Drugs Prevention

Abstract:
Objectives
The present research aims at testing the effect of commitment to Religious norms beside status and background variables on using Drugs prevention.
Method
The statistical community of this survey included Firdausi university of Mashhad Students with a sample population of 200 Students who are selected using stratified, multistage cluster and random sampling.
Results
Hypothesis testing indicate that commitment to Religious norms has an inverse Relationship with trends in using Drugs; girls are less willing toward using Drugs; those of upper social class are more willing toward using Drugs; in contrast, there is no difference in Drug using trends between single or married people; Regression equation also indicates that commitment variable has the most diverse effect on Drug Use trends. This variable is also under the effect of other variables of social- economical status and also gender variable and their overall effect on using Drugs have been increased.
Conclusion
Researchers came to the conclusion that encouraging Students to Religious norms can bring about significant effects on reducing Drug Use trends
