A Contemplation on the Contents and Rhetorical Techniques in Vali Dasht-e-Bayazi: s Ghazals

Message:
Abstract:
Vali Dasht-e-Bayazi is one of the greatest poets in Southern Khorasan whose literary significance has been neglected so far. This descriptive-analytical study makes an attempt to analyze the contents and rhetorical figures in Dasht-e-Bayazi’s Ghazals. The results indicate that Dasht-e-Bayazi’s Ghazaliat have been composed in the field of earthly love with an eloquent and pleasant language. Most of the characteristics of his Ghazals are the same as those of “Maktab-e-Voghooe”. His poems are full of yearning and anguish that eloquently represent features of an ardent love; however¡ one can rarely observe a noble thought in his poems. The most important element of Dasht-e-Bayazi’s Ghazals is “Love” and the lovers’ feelings and states of mind. Disappointment and Murder are two other themes that appear with high frequency in his poems. Rhetorically¡ his Ghazals represent his masterful use of figurative language¡ his creative use of imagery and metaphoric language especially personification.
