Evaluation and Prioritize Independent Each of Suppliers by Using the Technique of Paired Comparisons and ABC Analysis in Automotive Part Manufacturing Companies

One of the most important issues in supply chain management in different companies, including automotive part manufacturing companies, is evaluation and selection of suppliers. This action is depended on quality management system requirements that must be based on performance and actual ability of suppliers. The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is one of the most widely used method in the field in which that evaluate suppliers proportionally. While automotive companies, prioritize suppliers should be done according to the actual situation and the relative valuation should be avoided. This means that the assessment and prioritization of suppliers with respect to its performance, should be carried out independently. This paper has been present a methodology for independent assessment of suppliers in the automotive supply chain that the pairwise comparisons were used to determine the weights of evaluation criteria and calculation of points for suppliers to independently done. Then, by ABC analysis, the logical relationship between the volume of orders and suppliers grade is established. The methodology assumes suppliers have been identified in the initial assessment in production capacity and have been had the required infrastructure and facilities to meet the needs of the company. In this methodology can be a set of qualitative and quantitative criteria to be considered together.
