Study of barriers to preparation, administration and utilization of research findings from viewpoints of faculty members and active experts in research area in Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences

Research is one of the key elements in development of any countries and if it is not addressed appropriately, it leads to wasting material and human resources. This study was conducted to determine the existing barriers to implementation of research from viewpoints of research professionals.
The present cross-sectional study was conducted in 2014 on 102 active individuals in research area and by purposeful sampling. Instrument of gathering data was a two-section questionnaire made by researcher for assessing the individual data and existing barriers to implementation of research=α) 0.738). After entering of data into SPSS, data analysis was conducted using descriptive and analytical statistics.
Obstacles and difficulties mean to implementation of research in the area of preparation was 3.48%, application of results 3.22% and management and administration of research projects 2.91%. Mean score of barriers to implementation of research in management and administration area at deputy of research and technology was significantly lower than other deputies (P0.05).
The most important obstacles to the implementation of research findings are in the area of preparation followed by application of results and management of research projects. The results of this study can help to identify and resolve obstacles related to implementation of research in the agenda of policy makers and planners.
