Abstract:
Burns are one of the slowest healing wounds. Proper treatment and care for the wound to accelerate healing, preventing chronic infection has always been considered.Chitosan, Derivative of glucan, with repeating structural units of chitin, has natural cellulose that is biocompatible and biodegradable.
42 adult male NMRI mice were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups and sham. Sterile conditions and general anesthesia, a circular lesion with a diameter of 1 cm full thickness of the skin was created on the back of each mouse. Surgery day was considered as day zero. From day one every day, all animals were treated topically with a solution of chitosan nanoparticles.
