The Relationship between communication skills and leadership styles among Isfahan's sport media managers

Abstract:
This study aimed to find the relationship between communication skills and leadership styles. The methodology of this field study was descriptive-correlation. A sample of sixty five Isfahans Media managers who were chosen randomly participated in this study. The standard multi-factor leadership questionnaire and communication skills questionnaire were used to collect data. The collected data was analyzed using Pearsons correlation test and repeated measures ANOVA. The results showed that 58.5 percent of the sample had transformational leadership style, 40 percent had pragmatic leadership style, and only 1.5 percent had Laissez-Faire leadership style. Repeated measures ANOVA showed a significant difference between the means of the three styles. It also showed that experts use of transformational and pragmatic leadership styles was significantly higher than their use of Laissez-Faire leadership style. Transformational and transactional leadership styles also had significantly positive relationship with communication skills.
