Political Socialization in Textbooks of the High School Students after the Islamic Republic

Abstract:
This paper aims at investigating the political socialization in textbooks of the high school students after the Islamic Revolution. Since four books of Social Sciences, History, Persian Literature, and Islamic Theology contain this concept, the population of the study includes the mentioned books at high school during three decades after the Islamic Revolution. The research method in this study is content analysis and the unit of content analysis is field unit. The findings of the study show that the books in 60s with 39.5 percent and the books in 70s with 27.3 percent have had the highest and the lowest amounts of socialization, respectively. Also, the findings have emphasized that the books of Social Sciences with 59.1 percent had the highest amount of socialization, and Persian Literature with 4.5 percent had the lowest amount and History Books with 26.8 percent and Islamic M’arif ones with 9.5 percent are in the second and third ranks, respectively.
